Precisely why it's better ... the anonymity of myspace, as well as the unbelievably shitty background images and music that seem to accompany each worthless profile turn me off from it.

Facebook, in contrast, gives you much more control over security, and you can see where everyone is from, their names, etc. It's a better way, for me at least, to stay connected with my friends.

As to online privacy, I am constantly amazed at people who, in r/l, take ever precaution, yet seem to ignore any idea of privacy on the net.

Yeah, that's why I use smilies. I used to never ever use them, but nobody liked me. Those smilies do wonders for one's reputation. ;) As for RL, I don't know if I take a lot of precautions.

whats the point in being on the net if not to communicate yourself to others...im not saying give up your bank details...but who cares if people know your fucking name...its that whole online persona of being something online that your not that pisses me off...be yourself...chances are people will love you anyway ;)
