Make UN Reports more relevant

My country has an average basket-weaving industry in my region, so what? I think GDP, unemployment, and poverty rate are more significant, don't you? I'm okay with having these cute little tidbits about every country every so often, but I am curious to know what the figures of my region are without having to look at every single page.

Wrong forum. You want Gameplay (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1234).

Or we could just make the UN more relevant period. lol

The problem is that the NS game does not calculate GDP, unemployment, or poverty. All it does calculate in the way of economic strength is one of fifteen economic categories (imploded to frightening), one of three economic freedom levels (low to high), and one of seventeen major industries (Arms Manufacturing to Uranium Mining, in rough alphabetical order). That is combined with tax rate and population algorithms, then the whole soupy mixture goes through a secret admins-only code room, and out pops the UN ranking.

I'd tell you to check out the NS Tracker but it appears to be down again. :(

My tracker was at 30 records, every five days. I've known about that for a while. :P

Nonetheless, NSTracker is not an official tool, but merely an approximation. Its economic data source code (from NSEconomy, originated mainly by Commerce Heights) comes not from the game's XML feeds but from the coders' interpretation of the XML feeds. Thus it is not accurate. (For instance, its counterpart NSDossier (http://nsdossier.texasregion.net/main.aspx) informs me I have an unemployment rate of 2.82%, when I roleplay with almost 9% due to an economic crisis. But that's beside the point.)

Huh, that is useful, it looks to be quite similar to Tracker though I'd have to see Tracker go back up to be sure.

Thanks for the link though. :)

My eyes! The game does nothing!
