I was shocked because in that situation I would have been scared beyond belief but the baby doesnt seem to mind so I don't either
Its just a snake charmer rite of passage thingamajig. The snake's mouth is sewn shut so it can't actually bite the kid, and its basically teaching the kid that 'snakes = fun!'
Of course, the whole mouth sewn shut thing is what apparently got folks attention. Animal rights activists and whatnot...

Well, not all snakes are so luckily sewn shut (for the baby that is), not sure it's the wisest thing to teach a baby but I guess they've had the practice

The baby is awesome! Each time the snake "strikes", the baby has a "WTF??" look on his face. :p

Ugh, I was going to point out how stupid that was when the video commenter said it. Sure, snakes will strangle you.. if they are constrictors. A Cobra isn't going to fucking strangle you, it doesn't have to. It isn't suddenly going to become a constrictor because its mouth is sewn shut.

Animal rights activists won't care, cobras are not cuddley.

I feel sorry for the snake. It is pretty shameful that humans feel the need to compensate for their natural feelings of inferiority by torturing captured snakes.
