Looks like Bush will accept nothing short of a blank cheque with no strings attached to do with as he pleases when it comes to the war in Iraq. The Democrats propose a system where they reexamine the money every few months, Bush threatens veto. And Republicans further ingrain in their constituents various retarded lies like..
“Now is not the time to signal retreat and surrender. How could this Congress walk away from our men and women in uniform,” said Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif.
Obviously, funding the military and trying to remove them from a unconventional military conflict with a purposefully undefined end is abandoning the troops.
If I was the troops, I wish the Republicans would abandon me too, then maybe I could come home after an unhealthily long stint in a combat zone and not have to go back after an unhealthily short stint of vacation.

A pox on both their houses.

The Dems want only one thing: the troops home now, regardless of consequences and before the 2008 elections so they can wave it around. I don't see them concerned about Iraq afterwards.

The Republicans are learning that if one should wish to go to war, one had better have a plan for it. Also, that armies are really good at breaking things, but horrible at most everything else.

What are we, the people, are going to get? Another year or two of each side whining like spoiled children.

Translation: "The Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans, waaah!"

Take note which party has been in power for the last seven years, giving a blank checkbook to Dear Leader which has resulted in the quagmire that's officially titled "The War on Terror."

And since when is bringing the troops home a bad thing, especially when the public demands it and put the Democrats back in Congressional power on the promise of such?

Then again, a pox on both Houses means Bush gets to declare a state of emergency in the nation so I'm surprised nobody's tried that.

Well it seems we're also going to get the opportunity to whine like spoiled children about how the side that's opposing the side that's destroying the country is really only interested in making itself look good.

It's not the Dems fault that Iraq is falling to shit. It's idiotic to blame them for it.

I generally try to avoid being self-referential, but I've already covered this topic here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12566872).

Well we could simply light the thing on fire and that would solve the problem of the hornets' nest but we're suposed to be selective and only kill the bad hornet's.

Long as we don't surrender and retreat. It would be abandoning our friends to try and help them get away from the hornets.

You know what we can do about it? Its called voting... we can vote. Induvidually it does dick, but if we get together in a large group and start voting to get rid of these assholes then they will be gone, and we won't have to worry about them anymore.

Barring that we can get a shitload of fertilizer and build a whole bunch of bombs. Then we can go to DC and have ourselves a time.
