No, it's not George Bush doing a Bushism - it's Barack Obama talking about a small Kansas town hit by a tornado, where 12 people died.
"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died—an entire town destroyed," the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

from the same link:
As the Illinois senator concluded his remarks a few minutes later, he appeared to realize his gaffe.
"There are going to be times when I get tired," he said. "There are going to be times when I get weary. There are going to be times when I make mistakes."
So, he made a mistake, realised it, and admitted it a few minutes after making said mistake.

My favourite part of the article is this one:
During his speech, Obama stirred the crowd as he often does by skewering President Bush over the unpopular war and noting that he opposed it from the outset.
"How could we have been involved in a war that never should have been authorized, that has already cost us half a trillion dollars," Obama said.
Far more important than his obvious gaffe. :)

At least he got it was 10. Thousand can easily come from a wandering mind. I havn't heard the speech so I can't speculate where he was going.
from 12 to 10,000 is quite a big mistake.
Not when it was only 10 deaths when he gave the speech. I didn't know it was to 12 until I read an article about what Obama said.
The death toll only went up to 11 the day he gave the speech, unknown whether it was before or after.

or he said "ten thousand" instead of "ten", which...pretty easy to do considering he's discussed issues in iraq often enough and is quite often refering to deaths in the thousands.

Absolutely. This is proof that he is out of touch with the mainstream of American thought on tornado related deaths in Kansas, and so cannot possibly hope to relate to middle America.

and these highly inflated numbers obviously suggests that Obama has been entirely co-opted by the Tornado lobby and their deep, cone shaped pockets.

Grow some balls, Nazz, Bush is getting jammed up for saying "17 *pause* 1996", it is only fair to let right-wingers mock Obama for the same sort of stuff.
Let's just hope, for all our sakes, that would-be comedian notices a passing (by which I mean nonexistent) similarity between a picture of Obama he found and a mongoose.

And if you notice, Bush is reading a prepared speech. Not repeating a memorized prepared speech, but reading it off the damn podium. He looks down after every couple lines.
If he had practiced it before, it would be pretty obvious not to say 1776.
