Ever feel like you're the only one who plays it?

This thread concerns games that you feel like your the last person to play. My game is "The Alamo", a RTS game made by "The History Channel". It's accually quite fun, and simulates squad combat of the time nicely. It allows you to command units, plus heroes like Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett, William Barret Travis, Stephen Austin, Sam Houston, and many more. There are ten historical missions, including the famous Battle of the Alamo. Plus you can unlock an alternate timeline by acually WINNING The Battle of the Alamo. Even though it's fun, the game isn't around anymore, and it isn't even on the Wikipedia. Here is another link though: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/g/pc_games/history_channel_the_alamo_fight_for_independence/overview.php

Street Shuffle - a Windows 3.1 puzzle game where you had to rearrange tiles with pieces of road on them to cover as much distance as possible from start to end with your cab, making money to refuel and upgrade your vehicle to cross more hazardous types of road. Of course there's a time limit and if you don't have a complete road going on you'll crash, meaning you have to pay for repairs. It's game over when you're out of money and your cab is totalled.

There was a Civil War game for the Win98 platform series I played. It was a board game like thing where you moved each hexagonal pieces of soldiers around the board and would show scenes from reenactments at every battle scene. I think you always played the South and had to fight the North. Wish I could find that again.

Full of abandonware and such. System Shock 2 is on there, maybe a few of the others mentioned as well. I've never looked especially deeply.

For me it's twofold: X-Com UFO Defense (there's a patch for it to make it work for XP) and Missionforce: CyberStorm. Both are turn-based squad level and, well, if you don't know about X-Com you don't deserve to call yourself a gamer.

So many US Civil War games like that, but it could be Civil War Generals 2 (http://www.gamesfirst.com/reviews/rick/CWG2/CWG2.htm). Maybe Sid Meiers Gettysburg, but I don't think that was hex based.

I shouldn't think many people still play old amiga games: SWOS, The Settlers, Knights, Flashback.

On the pc, I was one of the few players of Codename:Eagle, I shouldn't think many more than a hundred people ever played it. Awesome multiplayer as well.

I'm not sure how many people still regularly play Doom, but I'm one. Quake 1 too. Warcraft and Warcraft 2 I played a few months ago. I'm probably going to play Thief: The Dark Project later today, I just found my CD for it, although it's not that old.

Some legendary stuff on there, but there's a lorra lorra crap too.

However now that it's .info and hasn't been updated in over a year, a lot of people don't go on it any more and the download speed is quite high (used to be bleddy awful).

Aaaah X-Com. It's fantastic, even if the second was irredemably hard. And the third was duuull.

But yes, the original was superb, and I've played and completed it many a time :D
