I think it's supposed to be funny or to show you "how it could go wrong", or both. Of course, that's a bit annoying if you know how to do it without it going wrong in that way, so it is a bit limited.

However, I was slightly bemused when my choice to not make spanking illegal resulted in record setting sales of "child-wacking sticks."

at the moment my nation page is telling me that due to my policies "postmen have been arrested in job lots for selling junk mail as home insulation". i've no idea what decision had that outcome, it doesn't appear to be related to any issues i remember dealing with.

I screwed around with one of my puppets once and had at one point that my national animal was endangered while being the nations favorite dish and also eating meat was outlawed. ;)

I'm not sure why my tax rate is so high. I'm constantly attempting to decrease it. Maybe I spend too much on defence.

I'm at the point now where I'm pretty much going to pick the most radical choice out of the selections to see what happens.

As it stands now, the most radical thing I've done was institute public floggings for criminals. If it worked for Heinlein...

Well, it doesn't even go wrong the way I think it will. For example, I did want organ donating to be compulsory after death, but I figured if I did that, people would be murdering people right and left for their organs. So, I didn't do it. Later the issue came up again and I said, "what the heck, let's see" and it didn't happen at all. I guess my people are less violent than I thought they'd be. Or less human...

Doesn't sound that hard. I do that all the time in real life, too, although I usually word it slightly more diplomatically. 0 =)

The worst thing about the issues is income tax rates. I think mine were at 100% for over a year and I can't get it to drop down below 80% even now. However, having given up on truly caring about my nation some time ago and resorting to picking the more extreme options for a laugh...:careface:
