There's a massive amount of variation in the genre of Metal, so thought it best to select which of the popular genres of metal are the worst, then pick the worst band in that genre.

I'm a fan of all kinds of metal, actually. It seems pathetic to me when metal fans are too busy fighting amongst themselves to promote metal in general.

Well, I guess it has to be Nu. Still better than typical pop music, but not as good as the others.

I re-found a misheard lyrics video on youtube. I love the song because the lyrics are so ambiguous. It's a pretty good song aside from that too.

Pointless? In my opinion, the only point to music is to sound good. Obviously, no genre of music is loved by all, but as long as some people think it sounds good, it has a point.

Nu-metal is terrible. There's no musicality at all.

For evidence of this, check out Metallica's Come Kind of Monster documentary. All the nu-metal guys they audition on bass are terrible.

I also hate idiots that can't play their instruments (from any genre) or choose not to. Pink Floyd gets a pass. Everyone else, carry a tune or don't play!!!!:mad:

These are different things. Accept had some great musical construction in their songs, but Udo refused to sing melodies.

Atonal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atonality)was the word I was looking for I think. Like the hippy trippy wierd crap that goes nowhere.

There's also some bands that don't know how to play their instruments aren are proud they can't.

Oh no, they can't just be lumped in as punk-pop; that was also already a genre of its own before Fallout Boy and kin appeared. You emo-kiddies can keep them, it'll help you build up your angst and anti-social rage.

You're right, I wouldn't class Nickleback as metal. I'd class them as total, and unutterable, shit. They are the epitome of mediocre, bland, boring "rock". If I never had to listen to them again, it would be too soon.

I don't care for most power metal, but I can see its musicality at least even if it really rubs me the wrong way. Nu Metal or 80s hair bands are worse, but I suppose there are exceptions even amongst those.

Glam, Black, and Nu-Metal are equally as bad as each other. At least Glam Metal has something going for it, and that's called an entertainment factor. It's fun, but the music usually sucks total fucking ass.

Two friends of mine play some of the best Metal duets ever, as they combine just about every Metal subgenre imaginable... And they do it right. They've only been playing for four years each, but they sound absolutely terrific.

Hey, dumb people never let reality get in the way of ignorance. How else would they get to enjoy the cheesy taste of a mouthful of toe nail gunk and foot hair.

Every metal genre has bands that ought to be sent to tour Greenland for a few decades.

While Nu Metal came close to getting my vote, there are several bands widely considered to be in the genre that are actually quite good (System of a Down, American Head Charge, Sevendust, and Mudvayne come to mind.)

Glam/Hair, by contrast to all other genres, has no band that can step foward to prevent accurate claims of total suckitude. Hence, it receives my vote.
