A declawed cat at that. What's the cat gonna do? Slap the woman to death?

And here I was, all ready to defend my Canadian Postal-working brothers and sisters... only I was lured in by sensationalist headlining.
*shakes fist at OP*
An 8 year old, declawed, domesticated pet...
God, what a pansy.
I've eaten things scarier than a declawed cat.

This is why Canada needs to legalise concealed carry of pistols.

I bet it has to do with the cat being black. Superstition is what I suspect. Not racism!

Exactly. The more of these dangerous animals end up getting shot the safer it will be for law abiding armed postal employees.

All postal workers should be required to carry automatic shotguns in order to protect themselves from dangerous pets.

Yeah, and to settle disputes in the post office.

And if they need to deliver a large package they can make a hole in the door of the intended recipient.

Yes. Declawed cats are extremely bitchy compared to normal cats, and with good reason: the declawing process is excrutiantingly painful(think of it as pulling out your fingernails with a plyer) and cruel, especially since the claws are a necessary part of the animal! Son a crap, people, if you don't want your cat to scratch up everything, just clip the claws every once in a while so they're not overly sharp! Don't declaw them! That's just ridiculously cruel.

we had to declaw our last cat because he couldn't figure out how to retract his claws. he'd run down the carpeted stairs, and usually on the last step would get his front claws stuck in the carpet, and flip over his head.
highly amusing to watch.
was this the cat?

Even so, it's horrible to the animal. I don't care what the reason, I will never declaw my cat. Sure, he runs all over the place after my other cat--who is part Persian, so you can guess how much she likes an American Shorthair kitten--and does occasionally claw me when he's sitting on me rubbing his face on my own face--at some point I need video of that--but he's fine.

It's more along the lines of having your fingertips cut off, they take the first joint of the toes when they declaw. It's really quite horrific. :(
