New Blackberry or New Treo?

I don't like big computers. I do like computers that work well. My Treo 600 is history and I need to replace it. What do you hi-tech junkies think about the Blackberry machines? Should I get one of those instead of a new Treo 700?

Let the audience decide...

Damn, I figured someone would have an opinion, even if it were they are both junk 'cause you can't game on them...

As to ignore being called a fanboy for either phone, like as happened durring the iPhone thread, I will not tell you which I voted for.
Crackberry Pearl.

Ha ha, Ruffy voted Blackberry.

There, now your fanboi-ishness has been recorded for all human history to see and stare over. No amount of using the votes of puppets to obscure your first vote can save you now!

Damn it! Tell them my plans, why don't you?!

I just got a blackberry today. 8700, as I don't like the trackball on the 8800. And no predictive text like on the Pearl. *shudders*

The real reason I focused on the blackberry was the international data plan Cingular has though. I plan to use that a ton while in Britain. :)

You guys are all tools...[/clearly can't afford a smartphone...]

I had a Treo 300 for like a minute. It was alright. A lot of producers have the Blackberry, so I associate that more with toolism. And with the Treo you can download Tom Tom GPS, and with Tom Tom GPS you can download voices-and one of those voices is Mr. T. You haven't been anywhere until you've been told to go there by Mr. T.

I think I'm going to hold out for the iPhone. I have a Mac, it does what I want and doesn't look all that complicated.

I see a lot of my government customers with Blackberry PDAs. I'm starting to lean toward a real pocket PC, like an IPAQ, though. Then get a good phone to complement it.

Has Blackberry worked out the issue with the copyright infringement though? Last I saw about it there's still a chance the whole thing might get shut down.

Use a real computer.

Carrying the tower like a purse, the screen in a sling and the keyboard hanging off the belt? I don't even know where the mouse would go. Sounds pretty uncomfortable.

And that doesn't even cover the extension chord.

They were talking about a laptop, I hope. There are a lot of places where it's easier to carry a palm sized computer and that is satisfactory because most times I'm on travel, I don't need to do any more than read and reply to email. The Treos can read and modify most Office files, but it costs so much memory to have that application that I can't do much else.

Apple was on the right track with their Newton. You could carry it, with a keyboard, in a kit the size of a DayRunner. Maybe I should hold off until the iPhone is available...
