Post-Debate Presidential Poll

Now that both relevant (sorry, Libertarians, Greens, Socialists, and Constitution party members) parties have had their first debates here in the states, I figured I'd toss up a poll. Not every candidate got their name on, but I picked the top 3 from each, and used my Dog-Given right of the other option.
Me, I still like Obama, and I really thought all of the Republican candidates were terrible tonight. It was really sad. There isn't a single moderate amongst them.

I think Obama is my man too, but I hope he picks a strong and seasoned cabinet. If I had to vote Republican, I think I might go with Romney. Im not sure where he picked up the flip-flopper thing, the "examples" on youtube didnt hold any water at all.

I'm not sure I agree about Romney (his Abortion flip-flop is very real), but I think that Obama will pick an experienced running mate. I heard some discussion about Tom Daschle as VP, which would be excellent. A strong, experienced cabinet seems likely as well. I'd love to see Edwards made Secretary of Labor or Energy, though.

See I just dont see one- He's said something like ''I believe abortion is immoral but I wont agree to outlaw it,'' Which is my position to the letter. In the earlier debates someone said he had claimed he said he was against abortion but couldnt back it up.
In another debate they challenged him because he had changed a position in an election from 8-10 years before. I mean, I like my politicians consistent but really, we do expect their views to mature with experience, no?
And I want obama to pick Wesely Clark.

I think government should be outsourced.
Americans drive the finest cars, eat the finest foods, wear the finest clothes and have the best watches. All these things come from overseas. Why should we have to put up with an inferior domestically produced government?

Clark would be fine, althought I think that it is unlikely Obama will choose him.
Romney was, at one point, pro-choice. He is no longer pro-choice. That has been a change of positition. He talked about it at tonight's debate.

I thought Romney probably came off looking the best tonight, though I probably wouldn't vote for any of them. At the moment, Obama is my man, but I was probably most impressed with Chris Dodd last week during the dems. debate. Obama needs to get into the specifics of health care and what he'd do about Iraq. Speaking of Iraq, this is the only issue that could tempt me to vote republican. Not that I like any of the candidates, but I have kind of a sick desire to see a Republican President try to clean up a republican made mess.
Trellistan tentatively endorses an Obama/ Wesley Clark ticket.

I heard Giuliani's first statement then decided I couldn't stomach another hour of such BS, but of all the candidates, I am cheering for Obama.

What about Fred Thompson for the Republicans? Even though he hasn't even announced his candidacy, but he's polling 3rd behind McCain and Guliani. Alot of conservatives see him as the next Ronald Reagan.

Because Inferior Foreign produced governments get great gas mileage, but once one of your politicians is arrested for perjury you have to send for a brand new one, which will take weeks...and when it gets here its instructions will all be in German or Japanese, and you know how great we are with foreign languages...it's just a hassle....:(

Yeah, but they don't get arrested as often as they did. They are more reliable that the US ones these days.

True, but we should really stay away from those European Hybrids...they have no pick up to them...they're chic, but they're so ugly... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Jacques_Chirac_at_the_G8%2C_16_July_2006.jpg...
Plus they don't have an effective recall program...remember this debacle?:

I mean it took them longer to recall that crap than Firestone and Ford put together, its like they don't even try...
They had such great ads for them too…

I have honestly not seen a Presidental hopefully worth voting for. There is at least one or two major issues I disagree with all of them on.
Clark would be fine, althought I think that it is unlikely Obama will choose him.
Romney was, at one point, pro-choice. He is no longer pro-choice. That has been a change of positition. He talked about it at tonight's debate.
Wow. That was news to me. Of course, the last debate of his I saw was in '02.
looks like Obama most likely gets my vote. Woot for another on the Obama/Clark bandwagon.
I chose Clark because he's highly respected by the UN (rebuild international rep), He can actually manage a war-being a decorated NATO commander- (an Iraq solution that doesn't include eternity or stranding the fledgling government.) Oh, and also, he's highly intelligent.
I vote for myself.
I am not a presidential candidate, but if nothing else, the very fact that I do not want to be president and have no chance of winning if I tried makes me a better candidate than any of the above.

Really? I'll be damned. I haven't been watching Republican polls. To be honest, none of the Republican candidates interest me in the least. They're just so boring.

I think that's the reason alot of Conservatives are drawn to him. He's also fairly moderate for a Republican. Perhaps he represents the Old Conservative backlash over the dominance of the Religious Right the past few years?

Many Republicans from a conservative board I frequent (:headbang:) were more impressed with Ron Paul than any of the GOP front runners. He has been my favorite Republican congressperson since I first got into politics, and I was glad to see him get a little recognition following the debate (I thought he did remarkably well, but its not like he had much competition).
Although at this point- I would likely vote for Bill Richardson, while both Obama and Edwards are good candidates as well.

I totally agree with that! I think 10 candidates for president should be chosen at random and then people would get to decide who is best for the job.
The notion that "anyone" can run for president is just not true anymore. Unless you can afford $400 hair cuts, forget about it.
