Well, my friend nancy and I are starting a radio show (webcast)

It's going to be about culture, stuff we like, campus politics, all our friends having segments of various sorts (like horror movie tipsters and prophets of rage). It's going to be a bit offbeat, but fun and full of stories. Each week will have some sort of theme, a la "this american life" and "wiretap". We've had a few ideas for names.

1. The Fan - "lets see what hit the fan this week," "blowing hot air your way since 2007"

2. Campus&World

3. Scope - lets take a look at 100X

4. Nancy & Maayan's relevant issues

So NSG, what do you think? rank the names, or suggest your own.

I like The Fan, especially with the examples you gave. Clever.
I was going to suggest Grab-Bag, but screw that...

well, we haven't actually got a radio frequency, so it can be aired whenever. that is, webcasted/released/podcasted. It sucks that it's not actually on hte airwaves because I love the physicality of radio, but this is as close as we can get right now.

yeah, so basically we haven't decided when they'll be released in the week. proly whenver we finish them.

The title doesn't look right...

It's unusual for a radio show to have a name, beyond the presenters names, but, if you want one, I quite like LG's suggestion. Or Myrth.

This one!

Or "The Fan".

The title doesn't look right...It really, really doesn't. I was all "Huh? Doesn't Nancy, well, have a name already? And what's this about Kreitz' radio show?"

Nancy & Raahan's Unsolicited Opinion Hour

Sort of ripping off the title of my friends unwritten book, but I always liked that title.

Ahem. *points*

Surely you've heard of stage names? Raahan signifies joy-it is a name you root for, while Maahan, while a fine name for a non-public person, in the public spectrum indicates sheep like obedience, or a gapping hole.

It was not, as you may assume, that I didn't scroll up to check the spelling.

Nope. Not in the least...

Nope. Not in the least...Ah, I see. I assume this is not the moment to point out that "gaping" only has one "p", is it? :p *ppats*

Only if the hole is an immense one. If it mearly creates a space between one thing and another, a gap if you will, then...

I could do this all night...

The Fan is the name of a big time sports radio station in NY, so I would be confused. But otherwise, sounds good.

I don't like any of them. ;)

you should totally get a radio name though, radio sucks without one.

I also work in radio, I'm known locally as Groovin Grant on the pop station and SaintB on the rock station.

I like the name 'The Fan' its different and kind of points toward the show being about 'hot air' on issues and pop culture.

The name Relevant Issues... makes it sound like some geeky dweeb show about acne cleansing products and girls mixed with some political crapola. - Bad Name

Myrth sounds cool to me.

And I definatly like 'The Peanut Gallery'. Its a common phrase, catchy, and well known that might draw people's attention.
