Favorite Pink Floyd song?
The "Favorite Zeppelin Song" thread inspired me, and there's a massive number of Pink Floyd fans (Note: Big fans, not "Oh I love 'Dark Side of the Moon' fans") on NSG, hence this thread.
For me it's probably Learning to Fly, Dogs (I remember the first time I first heard these songs) Us and Them, or Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2.

The last two that you mentioned are some of my personal favorites, too. My all-time favorite Floyd, though, resides on Wish You Were Here: the title track and the first half of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." I've always wondered why WYWH isn't mentioned more when people talk about the best of Floyd; it's probably my favorite album of theirs.

Oh man, I forgot Shine on You Crazy Diamond, I love that.
As for Wish You Were Here, I have the song itself (It's on Echoes) but I don't think I've listened to that. I'll do that now ("Now" meaning "after 'Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida' ends.")
You shone like the sun...
Wish You Were Here, hands down. It's also there best album, in my opinion. I like when they stray away from the syth and go with the guitar, and better yet the acoustic. For that reason, I also like Is There Anybody Out There?

We're just
two lost souls swimmin' in a fishbowl...
year after year...
runnin' over the same old ground
oh how we fo-oooound
the same old fears...
wish you were here...
I'd also say Wish You Were Here on most days. Some days I listen to Dark Side of the Moon alot.
Be scared!

Based on the number of people who have mentioned it here, it appears I've just been talking to the wrong Floyd fans.

Comfortably Numb or WYWH. Best band ever, omg.

On the turning away..
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we wont understand
Dont accept that whats happening...
Is just a case of others suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in...
The turning away
Yeap. By just a teensy bit, 'On the Turning Away' is my favorite Pink Floyd song. Followed closely by 'Wishyou were here', 'Comfortably Numb', and 'Time".

Oh hell. The entire album of "The Wall".
Dogs is very good, but have to go with any color you like. The first time I heard that I was stoned and well, it blew mt mind
"High Hopes", though "Wish you were here" and "Shine on Crazy Diaomnd" are pretty damn close to the top.

Wish you were here. Pink Floyd is my favorite band, and the Waters era is my favorite, but The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is an amazing album, and underrated.

Damn.
I really thought you would have picked something a bit more obscure.
That song is the equivalent of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" or "Paranoid".
The solo is pretty bitchin, though.

Post again and say, "Funky Dung".Is that from the Syd Barrett era? The early albums sound like they may have been good, as they were heavily influenced by the 13th Floor Elevators.

Careful With That Axe, Eugene; Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict (no, seriously, I do really like that...actually I like just about all of Ummagumma); The Great Gig in the Sky. Also, I really like The Wall from Goodbye Blue Sky to One of My Turns (including those two), though that's not just one song.

I join the chorus of people digging on Wish You Were Here, as an album, really.
Also join the cat who said Fearless.
To that I'll add If, Free Four, and let's say Time cause of the great lyric. There are probably more, and the list changes from time to time, but that's what I got right now.

If you have an iPod (which no one should ever have), and one of those stereo docks (which, because of iPods virtual monopoly on cool shit is pretty much only available on iPods), you can just set your timer to a song. You need a pretty fancy stereo to do that though.
