Perfectly fair

If you're fighting, and you decide to run away, you can't expect your opponent to stop shooting at you, even if you try to change into a burka.

No sense in leaving the Taliban to come back tomorrow, and lay another ambush. Better to kill them off when you can see them.

This.... disturbs me deeply.

He says that because it is easy and he has a low chance of being shot down. That means he won't die. If he could go home to his wife, then it would be. He wouldn't be saying that if the Taliban had SAMS

Actually, they do have antiaircraft guns (in this instance, they died trying to set it up).

They also have shoulder fired heat seeking missiles. The problem is that once you fire it, everyone knows where you are.

While you're reloading, the other Apaches blow you into chunks.

After a while, it gets hard to find a volunteer to fire them.

They may have anti-aircraft guns, but I severely doubt they have Shoulder-launched missiles. Do you have a source on it? Also, would you rather the Apaches be aggressive, or let them relax while the taliban kill more NATO or American soldiers?

Aggressive is better. The Taliban will just come back tomorrow.

Why wait?

Out of desperation, they also use RPGs. There are apparently some, but very few SA-14 shoulder fired weapons (most are very old).

Shoulder fired guided missiles of the Russian variety are peculiarly ineffective against the Apache. Apaches have a higher loss rate from innate mechanical problems than they do from being shot at by shoulder fired missiles.
