The other "who would win this fight" thread got me thinking of a debate (read argument) I had with my friend from school the other day

i don't know or care who either of them are but there was a poll and no joke option, so now your poll is borked.

Link is a well liked and well respected video game hero, who has yet to fail to save the world. And he's on good terms with the goddesses...unlike a certain God of War.

I never got that far. The group I was playing with were idiots. It was like trying to save the world with the cast of 8-bit theater, only our opponets are actually intelligent and good at fighting.

I don't know much about either, but I think Kratos would have the advantage, cuz isn't he a god?

D&D is not a board game. Its a paper and pencil game with a giant library chock full of rulebooks for imagining your own fantasy worl and making up your own adventurs. Don't like Midevil settings? Try d20 modren, which has all the stats for the modern age and beyond. You can combine it with D&D for one heck of an adventure, provided the people you play with aren't complete morons.

This is a fight to the death, and I'm pretty sure Link has never actually killed anyone before. Where as Kratos has absolutely no mercy or hesitation.

Your forgetting the Temple bosses. They all die at the hands of link. Thus, Link Clearly has no qualms about killing, Human or not. Twinrova was Human, and she died fairly easily.

I would say Kratos, question though, do you mean before Kratos becomes God of War or after? Because if you mean after, then the Zelda bitch is fucked.

The best way to deal with idiot parties is to roll up a lawful-evil wizard of some type and essentially treat the rest of your party as your pawns. Their idiocy will soon be wiped away, when you make most of the important tactical descisions.

It is also easier to play if you use the extended rulebooks. For example, Dragonfire Adepts kick ass in an Undead-based adventure, and make regular archers look like morons (in draconic campaigns, they suck, though, to be fair). Dread Necromancers are just sickeningly broken, similarly, so are Eldritch Adepts. Even morons can't keep losing forever, once they've got a more solid build.
