And so what? On the ABC news a few years back, they were showing a medical facility that treats children who have cancer. They showed the operating room, and what was the first thing the camera showed? A girl's "underside" when the camera was moving along.

And since it was live (and before the Super Bowl "mishap"), it was completely uncensored. Not that I have a problem with it, but I seem to be the only person who noticed it.

It may be a non medical name, they tend to be latin. Smegma seems to be a British word (for any "Red Dwarf" fans its shortened to smeg!) And why did God/Allah/mother nature put the foreskin there if it was not needed? Its a bit like chopping off your nose 'cos you get snot!

A better example would be saying its a bit like chopping off your appendix because it gets infected and you get appendicitis. And having a foreskin that won't retract (phimosis) is a bit harder to fix than a blocked nose

Yes I agree, but as I said, I had mine off for medical reasons, it was a desicion that I could not have made for myself, my life has been just normal without it, and I bear no ill will towards my parents for thrier desicions.

I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, so I saw no penis.

I did however see naked 80 y/o breasts on ER a few years back. Uncensored. Total close-up.

I have no problem with nudity, mind you. I just think they were doing it to push the envelope of network TV which I found disgusting. ER has had hundreds of shots of a patient in cardiac arrest in need of some voltage, and they never felt the need to show the functional nudity before.

I am curious if they had to censor it when it went into re-runs on TNT in the morning. Anyway...

Eh, only in First world countries, which have good hygiene standards. In third world countries, where it is bloody difficult to have good hygiene for many reasons, can be circumcision is a life saver, quite literally. There are several health issues with an uncircumcised penis, that although are not effectual in First World nations, can have a great impact in Third World nations.
