Remember those cops who blasted the little old lady? Well seems they may of had the wrong house.

Somehow this fails to surprise me.

that the piggies blasted an old lady or that they are being charged for it?

Somehow this fails to surprise me.

I feel badly for the woman's family. That must have shattered their confidence in the police.

They're murderers, they should go to jail.

A badge isn't a license to go around killing people.

Well... both actually. Though more that they are actually being charged, since that takes a long time to happen and the process tends to favour the police even when they could be in the wrong.

Tragedy aside, don't forget that this was in a part of Atlanta where the 'No-Snitch' rules apply. I doubt that the police department was all that welcome to begin with.

Entering the wrong house, shooting an old woman, trying to claim it was self-defense... hard to see any gray area in this case. Guilty.

Indeed, from what is seems is that Granny got 1 shot out through the door.

So they fired 39 bullets at her? (At least one source says 39 shots, seems only 6 hit though)

And their wounds?
It's suspected that they were friendly fire or Ricochets. Real smart cops. Bet they felt tough. Guilty!

No-knock warrants are bullshit. There is never a legitimate need for one that can't be avoided.

I bet they get off scot-free.

Atlanta PD fires over 30 rounds at granny...

NYPD fires over 30 rounds at a vehicle...

NYPD fires over 50 rounds at a Haitian...

And people say that we cannot be trained to the same level of firearms safety as the police is?

Let me put it this way. The very few times (thank the Lord) that I had to use my weapon on the line of duty, I fired a hell of a lot less ammo than that. Because I trained like the way I knew I had to fight. Seems to me that the larger departments are having more problems with fire arm discipline. Must be that such a large number of officers means a large ammo budget for the range. When I was an officer, we used to qualify quarterly, and the pd would give us 200 rounds of ammo a month for us to practice with.

The same pd that I served with had an incident about 2 month ago. The Special Emergency Response Team--they refuse to call it SWAT--was at the rifle range, and one officer discharged his rifle onto the foot of another officer, while he was "clearing" his weapon.

And I can tell you about patrol cars we would take to the firing range, so we could practice combat shooting using the cruiser as cover. I'm glad I did not have to do the paperwork everytime a car got shot.

But of course, the pd is not going to talk about that. It would make the citizens loose confidence in them.
