Olbermann rips Giuliani a new one

And well-deserved! Giuliani pretty much said that if a Dem is elected, people will die. That there will be terrorist attackers on the US because dems will 'wave the white flag.' Okay, leaving aside political commentary (I'll leave that to the more eloquent posters) isn't that... Oh, I don't know, going a bit far, even in an election year? It would be one thing to say that Dems would be soft on national defense, but to pretty much tell people that some of them will die in terrorist attacks if the Dems win? What a load of crap. There's video here (http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Video_Olbermann_commentary_blasts_fear_mongerer_0426.html). Olbermann is pissed!

I really hate that kind of debating. Trying to scare people instead of actually making an argument is lame but unfortunately the norm today.

Troof. Telling people that terrorism is a threat and outlining how the candidate would deal with it is Good Debate. Telling people terrorists will kill them if the other guy wins is Bad Debate.

I think that's a little more accurate.
Come on, you ruined a perfectly good 'Good Idea, Bad Idea' reference! Meanie! :p
EDIT: It's just a jump to the left...

It falls into the same category of:
"If you don't vote for so and so, God/Allah/The Pink Unicorn will reject you from paradise."
My advice? Ignore, or a bonk on the head with a mallet.

I'm not a fan of Olbermann or Giuliania. IMO, Anderson Cooper is the king of journalism.
The point is that the goal of terrorists to make us afraid. To make us make decisions based on that fear. That's why it's called TERRORism. They want a populace that will do ANYTHING for safety. Guiliani is feeding that. He's saying "Vote based on your fear of the terrorists. So what if you hate us in every other way. Prove you'll do ANYTHING for a little safety."
I understand why people are so angry at a man who claims to be battling terrorism while openly and obviously helping them spread fear.

You may not like Keith Olbermann, but he certainly seems to be the only real journalist among a pack of pretenders. He grew up admiring some of the best and brightest in journalism. Edward R. Murrow, who shamed Joseph McCarthy as often as he could for the same damn fool tactics politicians are taking commonly today. Ask yourself this. Why is he the lone voice in mainstream journalism doing his due diligence and calling folks out on the carpet who decidedly deserve it?
Cooper is a great fluff journalist, but until he has some personal courage, he doesn't hold a candle to Olbermann.
Olbermann hammered Giuliani, and Rudy deserved it.

Go Olbermann!!! That's all I can really say. He one of the best god damn journalists out there.
So, anyone else think it was funny that right next to the clip, there is an add to the vote rudy 08 website?:p

What I dislike about US journalist or media these days is that they rarely really call out the conservative crap as they did in Vietnam or the like, they call it 'hard ball' politics like it's a sport instead of getting to the issues of what the conservatives are repeating.

Gee, last i checked, the best way to have americans die is to keep them in a country where bullets are flying!

Giuliani taking the exact page from Cheney's playbook on "Democrats in Office means Terrorist Attacks on American Soil" is definite proof he's a Bushevik douchebag.

Taking pages from the man with a 9% approval rating, that can't be good.
Too bad Olbermann's exaggerated variety of showmanship only contributes to the kind of cheap politics that Giuliani is himself guilty of.
Aww man, I almost had hopes for Giuliani. I mean, he was on Saturday Night Live.

I'm quite fond of Olbermann, myself. I don't take him too seriously as a news source, I go to him for humor and commentary. And, of course, the "American Idol Princess." And his merciless skewering of BillO is alway hilarious.

Yeah, but no matter how good Koppel is, he never gets as animated as Olbermann does. In that clip, he's practically spitting on Giuliani he's so pissed.

During this whole thing, redwulf and I kept looking at each other, and at the end, I turned to him and said, "Good thing looks can't kill!"

He's not normally that intense - usually, he's kinda happy go lucky and very sarcastic.

Well, I watched the link and after viewing it, I frankly think they are both idiots. Giuliani certainly seemd to piss Olbermann off and that is not entirely a bad thing. Most of Olbermann's rant was jumping to conclusions and trotting out the same old tired liberal lies and misplacement of blame regarding 9/11. Both parties were guilty of misreading the signs leading up to that fateful day. That being said, what Giuliani said WAS arrogant, and does make me more than a little hesitant to vote for him. I'd hate for him to be in charge of this country knowing what he thinks is the cure for the situation in Iraq.
Go on the offensive? What the hell does THAT mean? That part scares me most of all.
