This is another abstract thought of mine. Suppose you had luxury, you had a good career, you were smart, were good with the opposite sex. Everything in life is stable or stabalizing however the world is way more messed up than today and the majority of insane people (hypothetical getenic mutation that becomes dominant genetic trait through pollution screwing with the genome) and they also have power in government and their ridiculas rules and their plans to wipe out the sane left thinking they are wrong or evil or just because they want to whatever not only threaten you but the majority of sane people left. Also suppose you could bring the world back to sanity in exchange for your luxury, good career, some of your intelligence, ability to socialize well sex appeal. Would you do it?

That's a spelling of 'ridiculous' I've not seen before. People usually misspell it with an 'e'.

In a heartbeat. I dont think I could trade my life or any of my parents, but everything else is open for business. If I could trade most of it for a much better place, I´d do it.

Specialy because I love traveling.

Well, it's very creative. Maybe it will enter the dictionary as an alternate spelling if you use it enough.

Even if somehow through some means sacrificing it would have mimsy effect and restore humanity to a sane and genetically normal state thus preventing them from carrying out plans to attack you and the rest of the sane members of society?

*shrugs* I'm a selfish arsehole, so quite possibly not, on the other hand I also have an annoying habit of feeling guilty, so I might.

But wouldn't the media be all over them? And since the populace is more pernicious and psychotic than ever I think the media would do something to them just for sensationalism like purposefully planting a bomb in his/her car and saying some Christian bombed him for being gay.

What did you do to try to make the world a better place in exchange of the things I listed?

If my life is that good the world couldn't be all bad.
It really depends on rather other people would know that I could fix the world. If I won't suffer negative judgment for my decision, bring on the babes and cash.

The definition of sanity is far too poorly defined. State what you mean by "sane" and "insane" and I might consider it. I do willingly hop the thin line between genius and madness myself from time to time, and I see no reason that I should give up my comforts just for the purpose of killing something that's an entirely natural response to a world so inconsistent as this.

Imagine that and they're making senseless laws for no reason and its threatening you and other sane people, they are also planning to hunt down and destroy every last sane person and they are being somewhat overt about it. I'm talking about the not smart at all mad, Jack Thompson, Fred Phelps mad. I'm talking the banning of anything with a cross in Saudi Arabia mad. I mean I've seen tons of mad people appear in the news posted here, THAT kind of insane. I know they're a minority but in the abstract thought I had which I posted in the first post they outnumber sane people.

I don't know...how permanent could it be? Humans have endless potential for chaos and stability on their own, but it is unnatural for things to remain the same for too long.

No, I would use my luxury, good career, some of your intelligence, ability to socialize well, sex appeal. to fight the good fight - I'm sure they'll be of use

So you mean vocally and viciously opposed to empathetic values? Sure, I'd give up my welfare to stop them if I was sure it would. That's not insane though; that's just having (horrifyingly) misguided conviction.

So my choices here seem to be "give up some luxuries and live" or "die".

I dont see where there is really much thinking involved in this.

Well, since I wouldnt be using any money, skills or abilities as a corpse, then I would have to say yes. I would chose non-death over death.
