So...there's a group, called Rockabye Baby! Which does lullaby versions of various bands.

Bands that should not be lullabies. Here's a list of some of the more notable bands whose songs they have done lullaby versions of:

Nine Inch Nails
The Ramones
The Cure
Nirvana
Metallica
Tool

There's others. Some of which you could believe (Pink Floyd) and others that are a bit out there (Led Zeppelin)

I haven't listened to them, but it sure sounds...odd.

There should be a band like the one on Family Guy where they do hardrock covers of public domain songs.

The Ramones? Aren't two of them dead now?

Yeah. Johnny (the lead guitarist) is, and I think Joey (the vocalist) is also.

I'd like to hear NIN's "Closer" as a lullaby.

Pssh, that's nothing. I've sung "Head Like a Hole" as a madrigal. :p

Ack, I just checked out their website. Who would ever buy that? And from what I know about lullabies those haven't been properly lullafied. Just the sharper sounds have be softened and xylophone and the like used to create the music. I was thinking this was actually going to be something inspired.

It's a growing sub-genre of parody music.

My favorite is Richard Cheese, who does Vegas Lounge Music versions of songs like "Baby Got Back," and "Me So Horny."

But I really like the one where Alanis Morrisette showed us that she finally learned what "irony" means (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W91sqAs-_-g&mode=related&search=).

That's the exact song I was joking about...
