Need some cooking help

Ok, I know most of us are either indifferent or dorm cooks, but I'm hoping someone out there has an idea for this.

I'm stealing that wonderful potato soup recipe that was posted a few days ago, but I've hit a small snag. It calls for two cans of evaporated milk. Sadly, such a thing doesn't exist in my part of Japan. Anyone know of a good substitute?

Might be of help. The one about using powdered milk looks promising.

The powdered milk wouldn't help as they don't make it in Japan (right now), but that page did tell me how to make the stuff.

Thanks!

Get some milk and evaporate it into cans, surely?

I second that.
