An NS Statistical Poll: What is your income?

An anonymous poll to determine incomes of people on the forum. No need to lie, just curious from a sociological standpoint.

I myself am still young and dependent student :P.

I earn about £4 an hour, working on average 20 hours over a month.

EDIT: BTW Why do people seem to be so shy about talking about how much they earn with other people, even thier friends?

Not at all, I mean millionaires are what only 3% or less at least in the US population so their a big minority, and those making over $100,000 are in the upper 20% so still somewhat small, so the majority of everyone is not rich.

Even still, people seem to think that happiness, and worth come with a higher income. I'm happy being poor. At least Im not a stuck up snob. :)

Several sociological and psychological studies have shown that the wealthy are in fact in some cases more unhappy, and depression is more rampant in wealthy households..at least thats what the official studies say.

I feel that wealth makes life /easier/, and with more freedom but this is not always the case. I hear lawyers in New York often work 12-13 hour days with little vacation to keep up their family's lifestyle.

Well, possibly, but of the two former employers I have, one is dead and the other is a charity. So probably not. :p

I am rich, rich beyond my wildest dreams!

Because my dreams are boring and unwild, that means I can pay the rent, bills, and still buy computer bits or beer sometimes.
My plan to ever buy a house relies on inheritance, and I don't expect to retire, so I'm not really that well off ;)

I am a student, and my husband is too, and we have income.....I think it's "true" income....I mean it pays tuition and bills and buys food and cars and stuff.

Yeah, but you're like the special kind of student. The rich type, with real jobs on the side and marriages and families and stuff.

You're almost at the top of the rankings, right beneith the Taiwanese kid whose parents buy him a Skyline R32 GT-R to drive around Brisbane in. ;)

"what are you going to fix for the kids to eat?"
"it's totally your turn, I have to finish my paper"
"I did it yesterday"
"I did breakfast"
"I have a 30 page paper do, and I still have to do all that APA stuff"
"well, I taught the kids all day and I have a 15 page paper due and I have to do all that MLA thingy and it's harder than APA"
"well, can we have Spaghetti?"
"I don't care"
Just have Ramen Noodles. :D

we aren't rich. :( although we could be if we weren't shelling out so much for freaking tuition and books. :p

We have similar stress levels as other students, we just trade off specific issues....for example college when we were younger was

"what are we going to eat?"
"Ramen?"
"Spaghetti O's!"
" we don't have money for Spaghetti O's stupid, we had to buy toilet paper"
"can't we splurge and get some?"
"no, not unless you want to do Trig without pencils"

now it's more

"what are you going to fix for the kids to eat?"
"it's totally your turn, I have to finish my paper"
"I did it yesterday"
"I did breakfast"
"I have a 30 page paper do, and I still have to do all that APA stuff"

Student/dependent of the 'rents.

Although, if counting the parental income, then it's over $100k.

Sorry it is true income what I Was thinking was a student is going to get into a career track and make more money later, so not accurate to put their income now

is that incoherent? because it seems to be........do you mean I should have voted how much money I could make after I graduate, or how much I will probably make, or how much I make now?

because I don't intend to really use my degree much........

My parents, in my lifetime, have varied between 20 and 35 thousand dollars ish. But we've always owned our apartment, which is worth maybe 400 thousand dollars now that my old neighborhood is suddenly "hip".

And then, my little money isn't everything rant/story: My mother's sister, who went to Cornell and then Cornell Law school, and is making unimaginable amounts of money, owns three huge houses and will/is putting three kids through top-class east coast private colleges, is twice divorced and is currently in a relationship with a married co-worker. She is on a ton of prescription drugs and drinks way too much. My uncle, who went to Cornell then Harvard Law, and is a partner in a small law firm in Maine, is on his second marriage, and appears to have some troubles with his family as well. My mother, who got a degree in fine art instead of following her siblings' footsetps, is the only sibling who manages to maitain relationships with her the other siblings as well as their mother. She is approaching her 25th year anniversery with her first and only husband and generaly leads a happy, well rounded life. Moneys ain't everything, not even close.

Moneys ain't everything, not even close. I call bullshit. Every second Thursday at 1:00 (am for all you losers on the 12 hour system), I get up a fucking dance in giddy when my pay check is auto-deposited.

Tell me, would I do that if money wasn't fucking everything?

Lots of students, some dependants, and a little bulk at middle-income, but it seems all types come to NS.

I'm personally a dependant for now, though I'm currently... hmm... well I'm sort of a student, but not entirely.

I'm about 4 years away from being productive XP

Surely you can buy apotheosis?

There's got to be a God-Mart somewhere.

I make under $10,000 a year working as a bagger at a local supermarket. And, until I go off to college and land a real job (or start a band and tour like mad), that'll have to do.

My only complaint is that I have no car. Or furniture (aside from this computer desk). Other than that, I'm fine. :p

You can, but apotheosis doesn't come cheap, especially when you've got to compete with the likes of Jesus and Brahman.

I would've had it, too, if my main source of income wasn't disrupted by someone. But I'll be back, just you wait...VetaliaCorp can always rebuild.
