Lord of the Rings Online

9 days till it comes out. I must say that it looks appealing, although that might change if I find out that I must pay per month to play it, because it says nowhere that I do.
It could be a potential ripoff though, because only like a third of Middle Earth is explorable, so I hope that they update it at periodic intervals (like Wow) and not create extra "expansion packs" that cost more money to play.
Too bad they don't have any "evil" or simply "other" races to choose besides Men, Dwarves, Elves, and Hobbits.
Thoughts?

No PVP? That turned it off for me. Warhammer Online, baby.

WH40K Online. It's easier to spot who're your enemies,... which is mostly everybody else.

Yes, but its being made by a questionable studio.

THQ? Seems to be doing okay with the DoW series though.

Yeah, I would have expected maybe a "light side" versus "dark side" or something, but evidently, they decided to make Angmar Sauron's lair, home to the Witch-King (which, by the way, is not the same guy as the Lord of Nazgul, because Angmar was a Witch-King from a long time ago, and the Lord of the Nazgul is from more recent times).
Then again, they could have other activities in the game like duels or something that pit player vs. player, a contest of skills. Which is why I'm sad that it's only "here, be on the good side and fight all those computer controlled orcs and goblins" instead of "I WANT TO KILLZ ALL T3H H0881TS!1!!!11ONE!1". Which would be pretty cool if you could side with Sauron.

THQ is the publisher. There's a difference between a publisher and a developer. The people making the game are mostly the same ones that made Lienge II or however you spell it.

Lineage II... and no it's not.
The developer team seems to be a new face, Vigil Games:

Which includes a number of people who came over from that team. I am not bashing 40k, I love it, I am just saying that the developer does not seem that good.

And I agree, the developer team has yet to prove themselves... to a countless legion of fanatical people who cried "WAAAAAAAGH!"
If it sucked, ... I don't want to be in their shoes.

Well Warhammer should rock, looks like Mythic is doing a damn good job with that, at least.
