That's the official reason Stronach left politics.
I suspect the real reason is that she had already spent what political capital she had when she flip-flopped after losing the conservative race, and failed to make any headway for the Liberal race.
Give her half a decade. If she can still get by on her 'celebrity status', she may try her hand at the Liberal leadership again. She would need Dion to fail horribly first though. Possibly a 2nd Harper term.

As long as they bloody hurry up! I can't stand this wait. Chrysler is dragging Daimler (and the price of my shares) down.
So either Magna takes it or some hedge fund. It's bad enough that Daimler will continue to have a stake in Chrysler because otherwise the latter couldn't make cars anymore without access to old Mercedes technology.
