Just wondering, do any NS'ers around here play this nation simulation game, I just started and from what I have gathered it seems quite good, albeit with extremely hard micromanagement.

The only Sim games I ever played were The Sims and Simtower. Simtower is awesome.

Ah, Simtower.

Twas indeed very fine, although I kept messing up by the tiniest bit when placing my little structures and all of my neat paterning was for nothing.

But oh well.

Yeah that was really annoying.

Yeah I think I am going to have to sit down at my computer for quite a few hours and just read all the guides and information just to understand all the economic and micromanagement stuff and the like in the game, it's quite overwhelming. You can upload pictures of your leader and stuff too.

I played Simcountry for a while over a year ago. But at the time, there had been some changes made to the economic system that hadn't been thoroughly thought through or adequately tested, with the result that the entire game went into economic collapse. It was impossible to manufacture the resources needed to keep a nation's infrastructure from degrading, and the decay in infrastructure lowered the efficiency of manufacturing... Well, you can see the nasty feedback loop there, I hope.

I got an e-mail recently saying that the game had been recoded and reset, but I didn't go back.

not interested. After all, I'm here on NS for the forum, not for any government simulation.

I just joined it, but I accidentally mistyped something when I set up my nation, and in trying to correct it, I lost control of my country, and I can't get it back. There's no way to contact anyone for advice, and I have no idea what to do now. Anyone who's familiar with this game please help!:headbang:

Unless you want to pay money, you can expect not to really get anywhere in the game.

Isn't it against the rules to advertise political sim games other than NS on the forums?

Well, he didn't even give a link until halfway through the thread, and his OP was simply asking how many people played it.
I think we can allow this.

Game looks complicated. I guess I'll try no to screw up too severely.

Aha! A couple of months ago I had a thread about GNS theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNS_Theory), saying that there were games that fulfilled the Gamer (Cybernations being a prime example) and Narrativist (NS :))niches, but not the Simulationist niche. This looks like it may do that.

Thanks for the linky.

Err, not exactly. The advertising ban is on any games. But I would hardly consider this advertising.
