In a private school they want education tax credits from the state. I say due to separation of church and state ,in the United States, its wrong give me your opinion. This is a Catholic school from grades PK-8.

in my opinion your post made little sense.

why did you start the post with O? what does that mean?

are you talking about K-12 or about post secondary education?

do you know that many private schools have nothing to do with relgion?

do you have a particular country in mind?

Separation of Church and State means nothing here. That clause of the Constitution merely implies that there is to be no State Religion, and that you may practice whatever religion you choose. It does not mean that the State cannot have anything to do with religion, though I do believe that if the state does something religion related it is somewhat....dangerous. The fact that many Private Schools are religious in nature I do not believe applies here.

Just my understanding and interpretation of the Constitution. (Now granted I do not believe that Private Schools should get State Funds, and I go to a private school!)

I to go to private school , but my point is that the state is funding, a religious school and thus ,although buying school supplies, the religion. Why?,because the school is privately owned so its state regulated but the school is like a private buisness. I find it wrong.

i dont favor ANY tax money going to support private primary schools in any way. especially not relgious ones.

we pay enough to support public schools. if that isnt good enough for you, fine, but dont expect ME to pay for it (through my tax money)

Not all private schools are religious, and in any case, giving a tax break to private schools as a whole probably isn't unconstitutional, or even giving tax breaks to religious schools. Nevertheless, the idea of giving a tax break for private schools seems, to me, completely pointless. The point of state funded education is to provide education of equal high quality regardless of ability to pay (granted, in the US/Canada the relative wealth of school districts comes into it, but I think most receive state/federal grants anyway). A tax break for private schools would have to be funded through cutting another part of the education budget, in effect, making the system more and more two-tier.

I find the original post ironic.

That said, the government offers perfectly serviceable education for free. If it's not good enough for your hellspawn you pay for it, don't expect everyone else to.

Why does New new nebraska's post looked like something that was re-translated by Babelfish?

Might to cause some misunderstandings (sic).

Seems this school wants their bread buttered on both sides. You don't get to be a private school, thus getting away from the government, and get government funding. Sorry.

Give and take,... If the school wants tax credits (or breaks), what'll they contribute to the tax payers?

I have attended a private school since kindergarten I am now a senior. That I know of my school does not receive any government funding or grants offered by the state. The school is a non-profit(501c3). Personally I don't think that my school should get tax dollars, I also think that my parents, because I attend a private school and not the public school, should have to pay the tax that goes towards the public schools.

I don't even think that private schools should excist therefore my answer is naturally no. If private schools can't manage on their own they should close and stop wining to the goverment for tax cuts.

Yeah. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a private school if it's publicly funded, eh?

If funds are appropriated to this "private" school, then the state should also be given a say in how that money is spent.

I know on the college level, my old uni, despite being a private institution, had to periodically bow to the will of the state because the state did provide some funding to the school.

Fixed? If not, a strange position to take.
