Hey Mr. Ahmadjscjad, that wasn't so hard.. was it?
BTW Mr President Ahmadsjkjad, I still think you are a pussy for not presenting yourself @ the World Cup.. the Iranian national football deserved better.

But what's so good about that? That only makes the situation worse. If anyone pressure them any more, they'll step out of the treaty, and things just go downhill from there.

Seriously, does Ahmadinejad WANT to be invaded?!?
I can see some strategy to it, it'd probably sink the US, but aside from that and turning the Middle East into the world's largest sheet of glass, what does it achieve?

Simple, if you want to take down Western Civilisation, it's one of the quickest ways to do so.
An Iranian war would probably send the whole ME into chaos (mainly due to the power vacuum that would exist with Iraq and Iran taken out). This would send the oil price into the stratosphere, which basically screws Western Civilisation.
At the very least, you put the US in an extremely vulnerable position, and probably turn the rest of the West against it (aside from Little Johnny Howard, of course. ) for taking such foolish action.
What better way to demonstrate your commitment to peaceful nuclear power than to pull out of a treaty banning development of new nuclear weapon programs! Nothing suspicious about that, no sir!
downhill all the way to Korea?
Worse. Korea didn't have people to take it out on. Iran has a primary target next door. And once the nukes start flying, it won't be a pretty sight in the Middle East. Let's just hope we withdraw out of Iraq by then, so that our troops won't be caught in a crossfire (US, UK, etc. - people in iraq)

Time to buy Brazilian cars then :D
Why a Brazilian Car?
Why a Brazilian Car?
They tend to run on ethanol.
Why a Brazilian Car?
Because they're all capable of running on E85 or E100. If you nuke the Middle East, you also nuke most of the world's oil, which means you'll need alt-fuel vehicles if you want to use that gigantic parking lot.

Everyone wins! We get Alt. fuels, No more violence in the Middle East, and Islam will be another religion like Christianity or Judaism without any violence stigma attached to it, because all the suicide bombers would be would be dead.

Everyone wins! well.. Brazil took some 40 years to gradually develop the massive resources and technology needed for a semi-ethanol national network.
So we would have to walk for now.. and in a way that is good for our health too. ;)

Surely you don't need that many.the trick is to buy them now (before we nuke the middle East)..
because once the nuke them.. everybody is going to want one. ;)
Other things to buy before we nuke: Brazilian stock

Wait what? It's supposed to be peaceful so they are forced to leave the treaty because they really want to build a nuke?
Are you suggesting Muslims lie?

Err... South Korea / Japan?
Japan's hardly "next door", but it's certainly within striking range.
And Iran's more likely to nuke Iraq than Israel.

As usual, it is somewhat more complicated. (http://en.rian.ru/world/20070411/63483224.html)
TEHRAN, April 11 (RIA Novosti) - Iran has no intention of pulling out of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, Iran's top nuclear negotiator said Wednesday.
...
"We are not interested in withdrawing from the NPT and regard it as a good agreement," Ali Larijani said.
He also urged the West to abandon a stance that could turn the NPT into a useless international treaty.
To me, this seems like another negotiating tactic in the current diplomatic tussle. Yet another way to buy a little more time.

I can't separate the ability to refine and produce highly enriched nuclear fuel and the ability to make nuclear weapons.
Dr. AG Khan saw to it that Arab nations each got a copy of a working design for both an atomic bomb and a boosted fission bomb.
All you need is the enriched material.
Even nations like Germany have the ability to make a bomb - you can't tell me that a technologically advanced country with the ability to master the nuclear fuel cycle (and the equipment) can't figure out how to make a bomb in fairly short order.
The NPT is window dressing unless inspectors are in place and no nuclear fuel is diverted - and can be proven not to be diverted by independent means.
Otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, you're in the business of making nuclear weapons.

Well it's one way to push world leaders to alt fuels, but with the nuclear fallout maybe it'll be less benfitial, but then again maybe nuclear winter will counter-act global warming.

Honestly, I would not be surprised at all to find out that Iran is making nuclear weapons. North Korea seems to be able to keep the US out of its hair, while Iraq could not. One openly claimed to have weapons of mass destruction, while the other did not.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if you have a nuclear weapon, people are less likely to invade you.

It wasn't likely that the US was going to bomb North Korea largely because they still have a friend in the world - China.
Invading North Korea or bombing North Korea to destroy what little nuclear production capability they have would mean the US would have to deal with China on a military level.
Bad for business and trade, you know.
Iran doesn't really have a big brother to back them up. That's why they've been forced to decentralize their nuclear fuel cycle at a myriad of underground installations.
We're already not likely to invade Iran - even if they don't have a bomb.

You forgot that North Korea isn't sitting on a reservoir of black gold. On the other hand, Iran does have oil reserves. But more importantly, Iran is trying to limit US control over the Middle east.
And it's not about whether or not the US government, or its people, wants to invade Iran. It's all about whether or not the Iranian government thinks that the US can invade with relative impunity. A nuclear weapon in Iranian hands would change that dramatically.
By the way, welcome back.

It will for a little while, but temperatures will go back to soaring a few decades later in most projected cases of probable nuclear wars.
