Hello again nsworld, my last (and first ever) thread about political ideology was very successful, so logically I've decided to follow up with this :D

Jimmy Hendrix definately wasn't the best guitarist ever. But he is my favourite.

Of those listed, Clapton is my favorite. Otherwise, I'd have to say Alex Lifeson. :p

Cobain was left-handed, I think.

One would have to like the sound of an electric guitar to like an electric guitarist.

Dunno who the guy from Muse is, but Edward (http://www.usrarecoins.net/images/EddieVanHalen8x10.jpg) belongs on the list.
I would also say Vernon Reid (http://www.myspace.com/vernonreid) of Living Colour deserves consideration.

I would assume that D. Boone of The Minutemen would be greater in size than all of the other ones. That makes him greatest.

Besides which, he wasn't playing Classic Rock or pretentious Progressive nonsense.

These sorts of things are as always impossible to say - all of them are exceptional guitarists. Its just opinion, I guess. Also: Satch is awesome.

Steve Vai's up there as a pure guitarist... on the list I'd probably rate it as a tie between Clapton and Jimi...

Agreed. He would have got my vote if he was in there. Anyway, I voted Jimi Hendrix.

Of the ones listed, I have to go with Ritchie.

But Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Tony Iommi, David Gilmour, and Yngwie Malmsteen probably need to be mentioned. And then there's the great guitar duos like Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, or Dave Murray and Adrian Smith.
