For me, it originated from the "There is no god" folks. It seemed ridiculous to put that in your sig, so very large...so as an effort to gently mock them for just being so shouty on the issue, I set mine as "There is no Myrth".

It's not that I disagree with them...I just think they're being outright ridiculous, and some of them might be trying to be a mite bit trolly.

Yes, UB borrowed my idea and refined it.

The original sig was designed to point out something specific that occurred to me - 'preachy' religious sigs are everywhere, arouse no real comment, and are basically used as a way of offering something in the debate context, that is not debatable.

It's like a little propaganda in every post.

So - I wondered what would happen if the same space were used to propose the opposite... to proclaim the counter message. The result was that an Atheistic sig is directly 'rebutted' in other poster sigs (unlike most religious ones), and the Atheist is called upon to defend skepticism.

The status quo still favours the religious.

Blame it on Soviestan, which is easy, I mean we blame muslims for everything else. :p
