Another Ethical Administration?

This is kind of putting the cart way out in front of the horse, but the Judicial Watch did a survey (http://www.judicialwatch.org/6241.shtml) about the anticipated level of corruption, should Hillary Clinton get elected. Turns out about fifty percent of those surveyed were at least concerned about high levels of corruption, should she end up in the White House. Not only that, but 1 in 5 Democrats describe her as at least somewhat corrupt. That doesn't sound too good for the junior Senator from New York, does it?
Wonder why there's all this concern about corruption? Especially after Bill claimed to have created the "most ethical administration" in history. The same administration that still holds the record for most cabinet officials under investigation. I guess some of Bill did rub off on her. Not that he had anything to do with the sudden appearance of the Rose billing records, nor with the tremendous success she enjoyed in cattle futures trading.
So how 'bout it partisans? Is this aura of corruption going to be the undoing of Hillary's campaign? Or is the media going to be able to make it all disappear and leave Hill white as snow?

Why were Clinton officials investigated. Was it... hmm...
A) corruption
or...
B) Partisan Republicans more interested in scoring political points than actually getting anything done, and trying their best to create dirt on one of the best Presidents in the second half of the 20th Century?
Gee... Who knows? I think it may just be the second of the two. See, the Rethuglicans are happy to smear other administrations, but lord help you if you bring up the utter and complete corruption in this Administration and the Republican Congress. When you want to investigate that, well, I think the phrase they use is, "Executive Privalege!!!!!1111111oneoeneoenen oh noes!!!"
But that may just because I'm almost as Partisan as you, Myrm.

So let me get this straight... We are discussing the level of corruption that people think may hypothetically happen in an administration that not only has not taken office, but which has not even been elected yet (and which may never be.)
It could be just me, but I think it's a wee bit too early to be handing out indictments yet.

Yep, but there's so much time before the payoff -- voting, that is, there has to be something other than just issues to fill in the campaigning.
Personally, I consider this a general indictment of politics. The pols are just out of touch and it shows with the actions that they take. People are tired of business as usual politics and I don't think it much matters what party they identify with.

Pot. Kettle. Black.
You know what? I am tired of this bullshit. I am tired of the partisan hackery from Myrmi complete with the partisan hackery coming straight back from KSP or The_pantless_hero...it's all childish bickering, dick waving, and utter bullshit. Could we please cut this stupid crap and start finding people we can all agree to elect? Or are we going to keep acting like schoolchildren and whine about each other's choices?

She's a New York democrat. Corruption is a given.
There are no ethical politicians in new york, and there probably hasn't been since Peter Stuyvesant.

Never been a non-racist Virginian, either. Or a religiously tolerant person from Utah. Please keep your generalisations to yourself.

It's not a generalization. It's just a fact of life in new york, the people who get elected leave a great deal to be desired in the ethics department.
But since you know so much about new york politics, why don't you offer a counter example?

Yeah, tell me about it...I'm dreading it already.

And Texas is better? Florida?
EDIT: And the Virginia thing was also true, they do fly confederate flags there( or was that South Carolina... )

Unless I'm confusing him with someone else, Stuyvesant was the antithesis of ethics.

No shit. This is going to make 2004 look like a goddamn tea party.
But as to the OP, Hillary has that rep because she's been under attack since at least 1992, combined with the typical political cynicism. It's amazing to me that her negatives in polls aren't higher, considering the nonstop hit job that's been on her since she was First Lady and even before. She's brought part of it on herself by seeming very opportunistic politically, but make no mistake--she's been the focus of a persistent attack.
I say this, and I don't even like her. I'd be perfectly happy if we never had another Bush or Clinton in the White House. Not a fan of dynasties.

I don't live in Texas or Florida, so I don't know. New York politics is really corrupt though. It's all tamany hall or black horse cavalry.

He was the first though. And that's what counts here.

Welcome to the real world, Kyronea. There is no one we can all agree on. Politics isn't lilly white or pretty. Please get over it. Otherwise, you'll always be somebody's fool.
And I take some offense at the accusations of Partisan hackery. I am an unapologetic Yellow Dog Democrat, but I will not, for example, defend Clinton's behavior under subpoena, or the big-money nature of HRC's campaign. Yeah, I'm neither a radical Libertarian, nor a radical Social Democrat. That does not make me any more or less of a hack than the radicals on this forum. It just means that I live in the real world, where we establish real policies for real people.

I was referring to the current president from Texas. And the election issues in Florida. You don't have to live in Texas to know about national issues. Besides that, are you really telling me that EVERY New York politician is corrupt?
