Click EDIT on your post. Then click the little yellow square with what appears to be a mountain on it. It's located at the top of the grey box where you post. Paste the link to the picture into the window that appears.

Done, though I left it too big by accident.

I've seen CIA commercials on television, so why shouldn't the Australian counterpart advertise on the internet? What, should these organizations not give out information on how to work for them? That would be pretty foolish to me.

MI5 advertises in the papers fairly regularly.

ASIO and the Federal Gov advertise lots of places for recruits. I don't see the harm in it. Since there is only a limited number of spots in the first place, the more applications you get the better those who are finally chosen will be.

eligible

but couldn't care less

I know people who have worked in a variety of the other intelligence organisations in Australia, and their opinion of ASIO is less than flattering...

That said, they have to recruit somehow, and with so much recruiting being done through the internet, they would be stupid not to make use of it...This way they can also get to a larger cross-section of society and increase their chances of getting people suited to the positions...

Hmm. I guess the government wants a third guy to accompany the others. Maybe they'll get a second HAM radio and a bigger tin-shed. They could move out of the middle of the desert while they're at it.

No thanks, I suspect the pay will about 50K only anyway. And the Work Choices agreement from hell ...

depends where you end up employed...

lowest level is probably about 36k

as to the work choices thing...depends on whether you are employed under a CA (most gov. depts are) or an AWA...that said, you get screwed over either way...

I went to web site, and there are a lot of jobs on offer. I think they are having a lot of trouble getting people just being interested with higher paying jobs around these days.

lol. They actually invited me to attend a recruitment day in a letter a year ago.

I don't have much confidence in their profiling abilities. ;)

Meh, GCHQ (dunno what the worldwide equivalent is, they basically track emails and calls of 'dangerous' people) put ads in IET, which is a fairly standard magazine which you get if you are studying Electrical Engineering at university (I know this because my mother did and we're still getting the mags).

So it's not that shocking, although, yeah, the intarweb is a bad place for it I suppose.
