Here its about 2 am in the morning (Brazil main time).

Actualy, I´ve just had a ham and cheese sandwich. I guess I`m a sinner already.

Also, I forgot I wasnt suposed to eat red meat today. Well, who cares? I´m planing on cooking pasta with red tomato sauce and bacon today for lunch. Yummy.

For dinner I guess Ill eat a pizza with some kind of meat on it.

I just had some meatballs for lunch. My family is Catholic, but I don't think they've ever followed any of the traditions. Actually, everyone in my extended family usually gets together to celebrate Good Friday and we eat ham, steak and I think it's mostly red meat. Well, so much for following tradition.

Is the 5th or the 6th Good Friday? Because if tomorrow is Good Friday then I plan on going to the nearest Catholic Church and eating a big plate of red meat right in front of all the worshippers just to spite them.

I'm not religious. I wasn't babtised, never went to church as a kid, and only went to Sunday school once, since someone told me it would be fun (which it wasn't.)

So, the whole dietary 'don't eat red meat' thing never meant shit to me, ever. Coincidentally, I haven't had any red meat this weekend.

I'm not suggesting that they wouldn't. I'm just curious is all. Some people do observe this particular tradition. I was curious as to whether many people on NSG hold to this observance.

I included the line about Americans because they are a day behind us, so it wouldn't be Good Friday there yet.

3. Most likely not. I don't eat much meat anyway.

I haven't yet, but I probably will. I eat meat with every meal. Chicken is on the menu, but maybe I'll go buy a steak to cook just out of spite.

I'm not even slightly religious, let alone catholic. I remember in high school when I would get a hamburger or something for lunch, and some people would be horrified by it. It always took one of them reminding me that it was good friday for me to realize why they cared. Hell, even the religious people in my family don't observe it. Granted, almost none are catholics, and the ones that are are only nominally catholic. But still.

Imagine my confusion when a few dozen people showed up at school with ash smeared on their foreheads. Did a bomb just go off outside or something? Very rarely see that kind of thing in college. Usually there's just an anti-abortion demonstration in front of the library or something. You know, pictures of aborted fetuses and other such appetizers.

Which brings us back to red meat. :)

Also, it was a four page thread. Four pages!
So even if the "Where I am, it's Good Friday" hadn't clarified what the OP meant, how about taking the time to look through all of four measly pages to see if it's really likely that she's trying to start a flamefest with an otherwise completely innocuous post?

Sigh. I don't understand how people can bother getting offended at something like that, even if it was meant as a stab at Americans - which, from my perspective, it obviously wasn't, by the phrasing "Or if you are American or similarly backward (Where I am, its Good Friday)". If people get so offended over a comment like that made over the internet, how on earth do they survive in the real world?
