Yay, an SG!
Yay, next will be either a '52RI Tele or a vintage '60s Gibson Melody Maker, like this one...

I would say that SG looks like a 2006 Gibson SG Faded Special.
Available in Worn Cherry, or Faded Brown...

I say this becuase it looks exactly like the one I just bought about a month ago.

SG's rule. (insert metal fist)

Ive played Fenders Strats, and Tele's, and those are great if your looking for a bluesy sound. Gretch's are nice guitars as well..

But SG's just fekking growl.

I LOVE this guitar. It playes so damn nice, and sounds like you expect an SG to sound. The best part is the finish. Its not a lacquer finish, and made to
look like a gracefully aging instrument. Thus "Faded SG Special".

Never have to worry about fingerprints ruining your guitars finish.

I also own an Ibanez EX series.
Its a decent guitar, but since buying the SG, I rarely pick it up.

The SG is also about 10 lbs lighter than my Ibanez.
Wearing that bastard across my neck for two hours was moidah!

The Faded Special actually IS a lacquer, just very thin and applied to look old.

BTW, you think it sounds good know, but IMO, the 490/490 combo is crap. Get a '57 Classic/'57 Plus or Burstbucker 2 &3 setup, or equivalent aftermarket, and the RS GuitarWorks premium electronics upggrade kit.

LOADS better. That's what I'm doing when I get moar moneys. $250 on a pair of BKP-92s and $50 on the RSGW kit.
