You should link to ALL the threads on the subject that have ever been posted, but that would probably break the forums.

In recent memory yes.

It's hard for me to describe how bad President Grant was considering all we have are books on the matter. Grant is just an example, not my choice for worst president ever.

Reagen would qualify as the most two faced in history.

Reagan was not perfect however he is one of the better Presidents in US history.

He was charismatic and presented himself very well, but the shit he did and believed was repulsive.

"Young people should know when to keep their mouths shut." - After the Berkley protests when he was governor of California.

The fact he continued to deny the aids epidemic ever existed. Then two years after the outbreak he followed the belief it was GRID.

His underhand dealings with the middle east, and south america. Including Hussein and Obama...no not Barack you pricks. :p

He was very likable, and that's probably why I detest him so much.

As one that remembers well the 1980's I can say that AIDS was denied by a large part of the population including gays. If I remember correctly the first hints of a problem were in the early 80's. It wasn't even called AIDS at that time. I don't think it had a specific name then. It was what they called an unknown virus. The dealings in the world at the time were under the Cold War rules. They would not fly today and not to make an excuse for bad things. However you have to understand in the context of the time it was not so bad. The perceived threat from the Soviets was very real and always there. So the US did what it could to block perceived Communist agendas.

It's hard to compare across so many years. Hoover and Coolidge were rather poor. The whole group from Lincoln to T. Roosevelt were forgettable. LB Johnson is remembered for Nam but did great things socially.

The errors of modern presidents are magnified because of the power of the US.

The biggest legacy of GW is that no one will trust an American president again like they have in the past. Not even Congress or the American people will ever trust an American president in the future as they did in the past.

We tell children that a good reputation is hard to get, easy to lose, impossible to fully recover. GW lost the good reputation of the US. The next time an American president asks the Congress, the people, the world, for war, none will follow as readily as in the past. The problem is the next time a delay while we investigate the trustworthiness of the president could be a fatal delay.

Why is it that someone always has to criticize the thread first thing? If you are tired of the subject or have nothing to say, go on to the next thread. Why is that such a hard concept?

I think Clinton was worse. But I still don't understand why we invaded Iraq. What are we doing there? Clinton only fucked up on a small scale in Somalia.

Most underrated in my opinion.

Aside from Watergate I thought he was doing a pretty good job.

i think we've been through this umpteen zillion times and threads. some even having had polls.

he may be, probably is, the most internationaly embarrasing president the u.s. has had. even that is by no means certain. but almost certainly not the most genocidal. andrew jackson probably takes the cake for that, although even ol lonsome george washington was rightfully refered to by indiginous inhabitants as "village burner".

this is not to say he doesn't deserve to have been exicuted as much, if not an order of magnatude more, then for example sadam hussain, among others his calus irrisponsibility, and that of his puppet masters, have conveniently 'terminated with extreme prejudice'.
