A Zamboni is not a vehicle, and therefore, you cannot be punished for driving one. At least in New Jersey. I'm torn between giggling and horror, since I live in hockey country. The idea of drunken Zamboni drivers running amok in our ice rinks... <shudder>. Doesn't bear thinking about.

That's not EXACTLY what it said. The court said he couldn't be charged with DWI, because his vehicle wasn't road ready and he wasn't driving on the road.

It doesn't mean you're free to drive a zamboni around drunk, it just means you cna't be charged with DWI if you do.

because there are maybe 3 people on this forum other than me that would care about the distinction, and two of them are Neesika and Cat Tribe who have a very different writing style?
