OMG Global warming!
Proof that it's not caused by humans!

Mostly 'cause it's on Mars. A good example of natural climate change, granted a drastically different environment.

And an atmosphere of 97% Carbon Dioxide.
Which also constitutes a pretty good laboratory vacuum, incidentally.

And you know what caused such massive global warming? A surface entirely covered by extremely fine red dust.
Which doesn't really apply to earth, does it?

The article doesn't do what you say it does.
It even compares the 'red dust' effect on Mars, to the Carbon Dioxide effect on Earth. And we know that human actions at least contribute to Carbon Dioxide levels.
We already knew albedo was an important factor... on Mars or Earth. The big worry about polar icecaps isn't so much about 'oh noes, the cold stuff fell off'... it's more about what happens to a body in space when it stops reflecting radiation.

I havn't fully read the article yet, but I don't think the amount of Carbon dioxide has changed significantly this last century.

Old news. By, like, months.

Well, there is the matter of the desert southwestern states. It's Utah. Utah causes global warming.
Well. It IS an entirely different planet, like you said. Interesting story though. I'm sure those with their heads in the sand will somehow use this.

Neither have I, to be honest, but that's not the point of the article. In fact, it actually confirms that Carbon Dioxide causes global warming. The point of the article, as far as I can tell, is that global warming can also be caused by other factors, in this case, red dust.
Doesn't prove anything about Earth though.

However, since it's 97% of the atmosphere it doesn't really matter which Gas it is as long as it is thick enough to trap heat etc... It is different if you are talking about Co2 being around 3 - 4%, as this is more specific to the nature of Co2 rather then just the sheer amount of it.
Doesn't prove anything about Earth though.
