Have you ever had fever dreams?
The ones where your fever gets so high your brain starts to fry? I've only had it happen once a few years ago.
I could see the world like this big interconnected ball of wires. Every decision affected not only the one you were at but every one connected to it and all those connected to them. It was actually pretty cool, you know aside from being able to fry an egg on my head.
Never had one, unless it was that horrifying I blocked it from my memory, but that probably didn't happen.

Kinda fucked, it might seem, that such true clarity and wisdom has to occur pretty exclusively from such exquisite suffering.
I guess it makes sense to me now, though.
*nods*
My fever dream wasn't as important, rational, or accurate, though - long story, short ending.

One of the worst fever dreams I've ever had was when I was 7 or 8. I can still remember it vividly.
I woke up middle of the night and my bedspread literally stretched out for miles. It was a yellow-coloured blanket so I thought it was a desert. Then I saw at the very far end of the bed something moving. I became totally obsessed it was a pirate's ship (I was only 7 remember!) and that it was starting to move slowly up towards me.
I desperately needed to pee, but was certain some of the pirates were hiding just around the bedroom door waiting for me. I could see their shadows move in the darkness.
Not that that mattered, as the bedroom floor was several feet below me and a sea.
Thia was totally vivid and completely freaked me out.
Luckily my mother heard my weird high-pitched whinings and came in to see what the matter was. She was able to carry me past everything to the toilet, thus saving me the embarassment of wetting the bed.

The only time I have really vivid nightmares, the kind that actually scare me, is when I'm sick.
After I had my jaws wired shut I dreamed a mutant rabbit with giant fangs attacked me while I was camping. In the dream it was trying to claw my mouth open. When I woke up I was trying to claw my teeth apart.

you really shouldn't watch 'Monty Python and the Holy grail' before bedtime.

I believe religions are the result of people having fevered dreams. That or psychedelics.
While lying feverish and slightly delirious in my bed some time ago i had an experience best described as feeling like i was a whole pack of werewolves guarding an underground station against something undefined but horrible. There were intervals where i felt not completely unlike the OP but in a confused and slightly scary way.
Silly, eh?

i had one that lasted 2 or 3 days at uni. i thought i was a scout leader or something, and my limbs were my scouts. i had to look after them and every time one got out of the duvet i had to get it back somehow because it was dangerous outside... it was weird...

You might be right, I've always wondered about what I've called the 'bullshit moment,' that point where someone early in the chain had to know this was bullshit but went with it anyway and what went into that decision. You might have nailed it.
I did have a freaky ass dream to me where I was in an old house with a big painting of the ocean and everyone stood in line and at the end of the line, upstairs, was a metal detector and a bored dude. I noticed a wire going across the bottom and so for some reason I stepped on it and alarms went off. For some reason I started asking for a second chance and that it was just curiosity and so they had me eat off a giant cake and I woke up. I assumed it was death at the time, but the logic of it all was pure idling brain matter...

I'm sure it was terrible at the time, but those two really cracked me up. Awesome.

Only if you want to go back. Which can be problematic. Maybe that means that the Buddhists where right. Once you can conquer the temptation of things like free reign to dig into a wedding style cake, you can reach Nirvana. Otherwise you keep hitting the cake and getting reborn...

I've been semi-delusional from fevers, doing slightly crazy/repetitive things like tapping at the radiators (i wanted warmth). Never really remember any fever dreams though

Aw, but-
When you put your arms around me,
I get a fever that's so hard to bear.
Sun lights up the daytime
And moon lights up the night..
I light up when you call my name
And you know I'm gonna treat you right
Everybody's got the fever
That is something you all know
Fever isn't such a new thing
Fever started long ago
Romeo loved Juliette
Juliette she felt the same
When he put his arms around her he said,
"Julie, Baby , you're my flame
Now you've listened to my story,
Here's the point that I have made:
Chicks were born to give you fever,
Be it Fahrenheit or Centigrade

Worst fever dreams were the same as my nightmares at the time, when I was like 6 or 9 or something.
Basically, it was this huge, abstract, growing thing on the ceiling. Like a light afterimage, only it seemed to have mass, and it felt like it was in my brain, getting bigger and bigger. I don't know why, it was very uncomfortable and scary.
