Isn't this a political forum? We take care of nations in this game so we must have at least a passing interest in politics. That and we are all opinionated and our friends and family want us to shut the hell up so we come here to bother other people. :)

Speaking as a USian here, unlike most overtly political fora, the mods here don't ban you for taking a particular viewpoint. Try being an unabashed liberal on RedState or the Free Republic for instance. Might be the same for conservatives at Democratic Underground--never been a member there. Add to that the flavor of an international community, and there's lots of room for wide discussion on a range of topics.

Because politics is so important.
