Which World Leader Do You Dislike Most?

Pyotr

Well, I'm bored.

I would have to say I hate Mugabe the most, due to the fact that he's been a dictator hiding under the guise of an elected leader for so long, and that he had an opposition leader beaten recently.

Poll en route.

Kim Jong-Il. His cruelty, sadism, and utter disregard for human life are pretty much unrivaled anywhere in the world right now. I'd honestly say he's worse than Saddam could have ever been.

I have to say, Bush is definitely up there. He's not the brightest crayon in the box, so to speak, so why he is the U.S president I don't know.

I think Kim has done two of those three (slavery and mass rape).

Probably because the media don't focus enough on him, unfortunately. His lack of anti-Western rhetoric, compared to Kim, Ahmadinejad and others, makes him less 'interesting' to commercial media.

Strange way of "opposing" they have.

Generally supporting the overthrow fo a democratically-elected leader isn't a very good idea.

If CNN supported a coup against Bush, and after Bush returned to power he ordered it closed, I would of course oppose the move... because I probably would have supported the coup, too.

But it wouldn't make him a dictator. Not even "borderline."

If, shortly after the 2004 elections, a major broadcasting company had a guy that put forward the idea of forcibly removing Bush from office and it was shut down, I can guarantee that all center-left people here would cry bloody murder.

Chavez is a tyrant who wants to be president-for-life. He's already supporting a change to his constitution that would remove term limits.

Apples and oranges.

There was an actual coup against Chávez. And an actual attempt to overthrow his government with an oil strike.

Chavez is a tyrant who wants to be president-for-life.

If the people keep electing him....

He's already supporting a change to his constitution that would remove term limits.

Yeah, so?

Oh come off it. If Bush did a fraction of the bullshit things Chavez has, you'd be shitting jagged glass.

Indeed. Because he's Bush.

Chávez is Chávez. They're different people, with different policies, trying to accomplish different things, and enduring very different political circumstances.

Bush and Mugabe really pale in comparison.

His policies are exactly the reason why you like Chavez. If he were pro-capitalist and the rebels pro-Marxist, you'd wish the coup had succeeded.

Not necessarily. It would depend on the level of popular support for the rebels and the leader they intended to remove.
