Experiences with Oppressed Evangelical Syndrome?

I came across this hilarious article,
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/189319/oppressed_evangelical_syndrome_on_the.html

and was immediately reminded of an experience I had last year seeing a two-person interpretation of "Dr. Faustus."

The director (who was not one of the actors in the production) lead a Q&A session after the show's last performance. During the Q&A he proudly declared that he was an Evangelical Christian, which explained much of his adaptation of the play. Where the original text of the play calls for Faustus to be given supernatural powers by the devil in exchange for his soul, rather, Faustus is portrayed as a mad scientist character whose "supernatural" powers are just a bunch of very clever, but very pointless inventions.

The director explained that he chose this interpretation to represent the "arrogance of modern science" :headbang: and how, "the elitist scientists can deny you tenure or teaching jobs or whatever just for holding certain, not mainstream scientific opinions," obviously referring to Intelligent Design.

Do YOU know any poor victims of this strange and terrible malady?
