What are you planting?

So it's that time of year again, for me at least. Time to plant that fruit and vegetable garden. :) Time it right, as I hope to do, and I'll be eating fresh fruit and vegetables all summer.

So for all the gardeners here, what will you be planting, or picking from trees?

I'll be planting a couple varieties of corn, and one each of canteloupe, watermelon, and pickling cucumber. I'll be picking figs, lemons, limes, and possibly cherries. :p Lots of good stuff, and no need to pay supermarket prices.

already planted.

lettuce, peas, beans, summer squash, burpless cucumbers, muskmelon, 3 varieties of tomatoes.

i should have some strawberry plants arrive on monday. they probably wont do well here but its an experiment.

im also putting in a rock garden featuring mini roses. those should arrive by the end of the week.

If you're going to make a poll, make sure to add a "a bomb" option.

Occasionally, I'll try to grow dirty dishes by planting them near water spots in my flat, but it didn't work so far.

Unfortunately, dorms don't lend themselves to gardening, but I did make sure to prepare my bonsai for the spring and summer growing season. I always have to make sure that it gets plenty of water and indirect sunlight during this time, since the summer sun is often too hot and too strong for indoor/tropical plants like my ficus.

And, of course, next comes fertilizing which means pruning every couple of days to keep the plant orderly.

On a serious note...our gardens always fail...except potted tomatoes which sort of work...I would like to start again but I think it is too late...meh.

I keep a Japanese Maple in my yard. The leaves are such a beautiful red in the late summer.

I had the same problem due to soil acidity for a while. There's usually a cheap soil test kit (like, under $5) at any nursery, which can help diagnose the problem. As for the current season, it's early for a lot of stuff. Everything I'm planting will be abit early, besides the cucumbers.

Well I have the week off from school so maybe I could...

I would really like to have a nice little garden and help the Earth a tiny bit. :)

what kind of onions?

The green ones, although spanish onions are nice too, it mostly depends on how lazy I get when I start planting. I already have banana peppers started, everything else is just seed packets, or seeds in the bottom of a cup.

I live in a townhouse so I don't have much room for planting. But, I'm thinking about putting some tomatoes and peppers in the little planter boxes provided in the back and putting pots of herbs (like oregano, basil, etc) on the deck.
