What browser(s) do you use?

And, most important, why?

Firefox, because it displays RSS feeds in a pull down menu without having to load a page to display the links like IE. Plus it has the Stumble extension. And v2.0 is a whole lot more stable on my system than v1.5. No more extended freezing up for no apparent reason.

Opera for most browsing

IE for a few things (usually email as gmail seems more stable on IE)

FF for stumbleupon

Konqueror! Only for notpron, I use FF so I don't have all the notpron URLs in my history.

Why Konqeror? Because it is a great filemanager/previewer/webbrowser/musicplayer and all that in a good speed. I forgot to mention how well it works together with aKregator!

Why FF? No idea... I don't particularily like it. I guess to understand the hype. (it's lagware!)

A copy of Firefox so overloaded with extensions, it's bednging the fabric of cyberspace and time. That would explain all the time warps around here... :p

i really enjoyed using Links (or lynx - is there a difference?) while i was testing my sites for accessability. something quite liberating about just text and no pictures to get in the way...

There is a difference ... I use both but Links more then Lynx ... Better feature set and a bit more intuitive personally (and when doing it over ssh the mouse works!)

I just do a lot of server stuff nowadays and need a way to browse to files (other then wget) and I dont have any form of gui on them ...

Links has a menu and can display more than one frame at once. I like links as well!

FireFox. Because it's save and stable and it works a whole lot better than IE. I do know it used way too much memory for a browser, but I started using it and I like it, so I won't change, except maybe to Opera, if I'm not too lazy.

IE is sometimes used when I happen to stumble across a website of some idiot who apparently hates W3C and standardization and uses IE only code.

I just do a tone of SSH remote server administration on non Gui servers, its way too useful of tool to throw out

For the same reason I have not completely abolished my IE ... Even with IETab I cant do some of our far end new testing and retain full feature set

Firefox. The new IE isn't so bad, but I still prefer the RSS layout and the extensions on Firefox.

Mostly Firefox, at the moment, but I've also got Avant and IE7.

I use FF over Avant because it loads slightly faster (I actually prefer Avant's handling of tabs, putting them in several rows rather than in one scrolling row).

I use FF over IE because it doesn't ask me if I want to save my open tabs when I close it, it just does it.

I also love FF's Flashblock plugin. Being able to turn on individual Flash things with a single click is so much better than IE's turn flash on/off globally from the plug-ins controller, and even better than Avant's "show Flash" on/off menu option. It is, in fact, the way Flash should work by default.

Can't you just turn that option off?
There should be a "never ask again" checkbox in the dialog box (can't remember, i disabled it in a beta a looong time ago).

Edit: you right about Flash. But wouldn't be such a problem if it weren't used to do things that you can do with some plain DHTML (i.e. 90% of what i see around)

The way it should be done is different: No flash, at all!

Yes you can ... though I like it on cause it warns me, I tend to try and close the wrong window all the time lol

And if you disable the "Would you like to open these tabs next time?" option it sets it to not open the tabs when I re-open IE, which is exactly the opposite of what I want to happen.

As of IE 7.0.5730.11, anyway.

The way it should be done is different: No flash, at all!
Heh, that'd be better than at the moment, yeah ;)

Opera. The mouse gestures make browsing incredibly fast, and I like the other features, too.

IE7 for work as I need ActiveX support and Firefox 2.0.0.3 too.

(Using IE6 at the moment because I'm too slack to install IE7 in my home PC)

Firefox, because I don't need the extra utilities in Opera or Konqueror, nor am I running a Mac so I don't need Netscape or Safari, and I hate Internet Explorer. Firefox is simple and has nice tabbed browsing, which I love because I do so much at once online that I just need tabbed browsing. Without it I'd have at least ten different browser windows open at all times, and upwards of thirty at times.

SeaMonkey.

I always had Netscape but that started crapping out on me a couple months ago and SeaMonkey was the closest to it I could find.

I also have Firefox but I don't care for it and only use it for StumbleUpon.

I also have Internet Eplorer which I hate with a passion and only use it when some sites (or random parts of sites, like a certain log-in page on eBay) won't work in SeaMonkey.

I use Firefox because of Google, the plugins and the tabs. IE doesn't allow tabs. (Not my version anyway). And FF is more secure than IE.

I've been using FF since 0.10, so I am quite used to it, and have gotten used to it. But I am starting to like Konqueror. If only it a) wasn't built with QT and b) displayed NS niceley.
