What is the point in this thread to be honest? Also, by smart what do you mean? Intelligence? Knowledge?

Of those listed, I only know TCT to both have made "smart" posts AND to have been able to restrain himself from NSG for considerable lengths of time, which makes him win hands down.

I vote Kanabia, because he knows most about computer games, and they're the most important topic discussed on this here forum!

Dempublicents is also obviously intelligent and well-spoken, but I've only seen her in political topics, not in any of the important ones (ie. computer games, etc.). She ought to be on the poll.

Bottle is obviously intelligent, but she often needs to take a deep breath and calm down before applying fingers to keyboard.

Vetalia is hopelessly, foolishly optimistic about scientific and technological progress.

The others' interests are different enough from mine that I've never really noticed them...

Cat-Tribe generally impresses me, although we don't seem to wind up in the same threads all that much--and when we do we usually seem to agree, so I could be biased.

Otherwise, Vittos and Soheran are both highly intelligent. They have also both demonstrated the virtue of being able to admit when they are wrong, or at least when they realize they have not thought things through as thoroughly as they had believed--although they are both so stubborn that they may take a while to get to that point. But then, that also reminds me of... me.

Naturally, I'm the smartest. Haha!! I recognize others as intelligent only when they tend to remind me of myself.

Seriously? Hilarious...I saw an interview with him on MOD which was just terrible...he was either totally stoned, or (more likely) really drunk.

Almost awesome. I have four days of school left before I get to sleep. I also gotta hope like hell SFU accepts me as a second year. They only take transfers to fill up their classes, unlike UBC who will guarantee a position for pretty much any institution in the province. Hell, I'd have a better chance of getting into U of A, of course King Ralf makes that more expensive than UBC.

On the bad side, I was supposed to get tanked yesterday (and go to school with a major hangover), but my ride got sick. :(

Almost awesome. I have four days of school left before I get to sleep. I also gotta hope like hell SFU accepts me as a second year. They only take transfers to fill up their classes, unlike UBC who will guarantee a position for pretty much any institution in the province. Hell, I'd have a better chance of getting into U of A, of course King Ralf makes that more expensive than UBC.

On the bad side, I was supposed to get tanked yesterday (and go to school with a major hangover), but my ride got sick. :(

Seriously? Hilarious...I saw an interview with him on MOD which was just terrible...he was either totally stoned, or (more likely) really drunk.

But I took in his show in Edmonton, and it was fantastical. Total awesomeness. And yeah, he like, slipped and fell against the guitar player at one point, and then did the B-Boy stance. It was great!

It is. I currently go to school in Abbotsford. It sucks. They drive with their heads up their asses their. People will change lanes while turning, or in intersections, or in intersections that turn. They also lack left turn lanes along their main roads, so it is usually faster to follow the 90 year old in the slow lane who insists on doing 20K under the speed limit.

I think some of us are more intelligent in different ways, but I can't think of one that stands out in particular. So, I voted for myself.
You'd be stupid not to. ;) Intelligence is difficult to discern on an online forum though, so I am more likely to judge on this based on how well a person can debate and present an argument (whether eloquently or not), which would put Vittos, Soheran, AnarchyeL, Neu Leonstein and Bottle as my main choices.

Intelligence on a forum is often inversely proportional to postcount and the number of words one uses to get one's point across. The smart person knows when to keep his or her mouth shut, and doesn't need to wax loquacious to make a point.

The problem is that most of those posters tend to go slumming in those boring "easy" topics.

Bottle and Cat-Tribes easily trample through the threads they involve themselves in, but these are topics where popular informed opinion has been resolved long ago, and it only requires the regurgitation of the established though, information, and rhetoric to sweep away the remnants of dissent.

Where real intelligence (and not to demean Bottle an Cat-Tribes, they are likely to be as intelligent as any poster on this forum) is measured in those subtle, nuanced topics that provide the basis for the practical topics.

In these threads I would give AnarchyeL the edge. I am not sure that AnarchyeL is the most intelligent, per se, but he has the combination of intelligence and discipline to constantly be one step ahead. It is not uncommon for me to take a polar stance from AnarchyeL, discuss it until we are generally seeing eye to eye, and then realizing that AnarchyeL was correct in the first place.

The threads on Free Will (I never actually was wrong in this one, but I came to appreciate his division between the objective and subjective) and the choice of title for the Classic Liberals (I was wrong on this one) being the most recent and memorable examples.
