Our first General Topics

Go way back people. I'm not talking your first general topic with your reincarnated self because you got deleted for being an awesome troll (Jesussaves, HerPower anyone?) , I mean your first topic EVER. Back when you didn't understand the subtle ways of NSG. Before you met Lunatic Goofballs, before you read one of Drunk Commies whacked out news stories.

What's mine? Well, back when I was 13, still ignorant of the ways of the world, I was a conservative, pretty much for no particular reason too. Like our trolls, almost, but real and not so stupid. Keep in mind I have reformed completly, and practically growing up on NSG has led me to become the complete opposite of what I once was.

I'm not going to try searching for the link, but I think the first thread I posted was called 'The Michigan Accent'.

Strangely, I seemed to rouse every single Michingan NS'er, and many other Americans, when I dared suggest that Americans might have an accent.

It was fun! :D

A quick search shows it's something about Guantanamo and the UK.

Well, to be fair, I think the moment anyone says something remotely conservative without some info to back it up, the liberal hordes scream 'TROLL!!'.

The same is not true if a liberal posts something like 'George Bush Sucks, and so do Conservatives!'. That doesn't seem to come across as trolling around here. It's standard fare.

I mean really, what exactly would a liberal have to do to be considered a troll in this forum? They'd have to probably say something conservative.

Anyway, the first thread I can find is something about Birthday Dinners (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=473462) but I know that's not the earliest thread and/or post I've made...Jolt just limits the number of search pages, unfortunately.

Liberal trolls are harder to pull off. The average conservative's views are pretty out their, so conservative trolls are easy. Liberals, however, tend to have views more along the lines of "Wouldn't it be great if everyone were equal?" and therefore are a bit harder to pull off.

I don't think Ocean Drive and I circulate in many of the same threads. From the little I've seen him post, he seems to come across as a troll because he seems militantly on one side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or something. (I'm not even sure which side to be honest. That's how much I'm paying attention.)

That's basically what I'm saying. It's not really a troll unless it goads the masses into angry rebuttal. And how do you get angry rebuttals spouting the stuff that everyone on here agrees with?

And just for giggles, in that brief period where my English teacher was turning me into a neo-con before NationStates rescued me from it:

Reading through that thread...even then I was quite polite to everyone. I certainly wasn't a good neo-con, that's for sure.

I've been on this forum far too long that my first general thread would still be preserved. But here's the earliest thread I could find: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=352523

Reading some of my older threads from 2004 I've noticed this:

*I was incredibly random at times
*I was incredibly foul mouthed with things that probably could get you banned
*I made way too many threads with polls

Liberals, however, tend to have views more along the lines of "Wouldn't it be great if everyone were equal?" and therefore are a bit harder to pull off.

One way to troll as a liberal is to have a pretentious, self-righteous attitude. Or maybe that's the upper middle class socialist troll. Meh.

Three (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=405400) glorious (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=404994), fantastic (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=405152) days (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=405159).

I mean, this was gold:
The threat of pregnancy has long been a tool of the patriofacists to control and oppress women. When womyn could finally stand no more, birth control was developed to allow us to escape the constant fear of unwanted pregnancy and abandonment. However, these methods were created by the patriofacists themselves as a clever way of offering freedom with one hand and taking it away with the other. Methods like the IUD can have serious health consequences. The pill plays havoc with womyn's natural hormones. The more permanent surgical procedures are extreme and can have terrible health consequences. Over all it is the womyn's responsibility to avoid pregnancy, her life that is most affected by unwanted pregnancies. Men are free to enjoy sex with no fear, no alterting of their hormones, no consequences if a pregnancy occurs except sometimes financial.

This inequality must stop. Men should have vacectomies during puberty. It is a safe, simple procedure that can be reversed later in life when both the man and womyn decide to have a child. Surely this is cheaper than abortions, child care payments, abandonded children supported by the state? It would free both men and womyn from the fear of pregnancy, and allow them to enjoy healthy sex!

Wow heres the first thread I started:

Once again I see apost about Mulism taking offence over something, and then some wag posts about Christians doing the same thing.

I just don't get it?

Look I'm a religious man myself(what religion doesn't matter) and what ever anybody says about God, or my religion worries me not at all.

Religion, mans serach for God, is a purly personal thing, your realtionship with God likewise. So if I hear Gods a ****. Two things pop into my mind the first being; Is God really a ****? No of course not, so why get upset at what is basicaly a lie? The second being; okay I get it your not into God*shrug* I don't care.

For us religous folx the number one thing is getting to God, remebering God, going to heaven, or whatever the end result of your particular dogma says.

So on a pesonal level it's all about me. I don't give a monkeys really if you don't find God, I'm too caught up in my own quest. Yes that makes me selfish, but ask your selfs this each and every religious person, am I more selfish than you?

No of course not, you only belive in God because you want your soul to live on, it's all about you now isn't it. And if that is the case why take offence at what people say about God, or your religion.

Is God offended do you think by the female form? Is God offended do you think by pointing your feet at a phyiscal representation of God? Is God offended do you think of a humorous cartoon?

Or do you think that God is more offended by the amount of killing that goes on in Gods name, or by the hatred generated by those that view the same God in differant ways, or by mans attempt to put his words in Gods mouth?

Or do you think that the whole idea of a God that can be offended by Gods own creation just plain daft?

A thread on my deletion for posting pictures of cave paintings and screenshots of 8-bit graphics from "Custers Revenge" which featured something that might have been a boob.

That's the only thread I can remember making back then.

I like how Katganistan kept signing her posts in it "Not a NationStates mod." That alone shows how old it is.

My theory is that Kat is actually some sort of AI created to mod. Robomod! back then it was Kat Beta.

Do any of us really want to remember the things we said back in the day? I don't think so. Nope, absolutely not. Reminiscing can be so overrated after all.

You really should make more threads. That was excellent.

Heh, thanks. It was certainly rather fun to get marriage proposals on my first thread. :p

You're just embarrased by what you said earlier in your life. We all are; it's nothing to be ashamed of. Everyday we grow and learn more, so older opinions are always less-informed.

Your first 100 posts should be seen when you turn the post order to "ascending".

My first thread was before the move to Jolt and I think it's lost forever.

It was basically a letter to the US news media that I was asking for input on as well as signatories in a sort of petition that tells the US news how crappy we think they were and why and asking them to wise up and give us the good stuff.

I forgot the major points I had originally made though and noone would participate.

Mine was about sex toys, and was moved to Spam in a page or two. It's probably been autopruned in the Folder of Death many moons ago...

An oldie, but a goodie. Is Bush on NSG? (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=501150)
