No. It's perfectly acceptable for people to not like rap.
What is not acceptable is pretending there is some sort of objective standard of the worth of various musical styles, with rap somewhere way down at the bottom.
Be honest...you just don't like rap. I'm good with that. I might still try to expose you to some that might change your mind, but no realy issues.
What you shan't be allowed to do without unleashing my wrath, is simply snobbishly dismiss an extremely varied genre based on your own prejudices. I don't like country music, for the most part, though I admit there are some songs worth listening too. My dislike does not mean that outside of my preferences exists a standard by which I can validly say, 'country music is worse than every other kind of music, na na na'.
So when you make statements of fact which are truly statement of subjective opinion, I shall reply in kind.

Um, no. I never mentioned gangsta rap. I was commenting on the fact that rap is so mainstream now that even Karl Rove is getting into the act.
When has part of rap music ever not been 'mainstream'? There are parts of all musical genres that are popular, and parts that are listened to only by relatively small cliques.
Though Rove's attempts at rap are particularly soul-crushing, and your anouncement that 'rap is oficially dead' was most probably said in jest, the unenlightened comments that followed seem to assume that all rap music and all of hip-hop was about guns, bling and bitches.
As Neesika said, music is subjective and of course it's perfectly reasonable not to like certain music. But to mischaracterise a genre with all the trappings of one of its sub-genres is just idiotic; and it seems to happen to rap more than anything else, with the possible exception of electronic music. I don't see anyone asuming that the entire genre of rock is all about wearing black eyeliner and singing songs about lost girlfriends, or that the entire genre of country is filled with Garth Brooks-a-likes.
While that is pretty bad you have clearly never seen Denny Blaze in his attempt to rap.
