Free WiFi everywhere? Too good to be true?

This site claims to offer free wifi everywhere, on any wifi device. Apparently it’s a software application that you install on your computer and helps you get free WiFi access all around the world.

Additionally it offers a range of tools and services that will take your wireless experience to a new level.

Does anyone here use it? Is it really too good to be true? Am I likely to find Interpol kicking down my bedroom door as I use it to look at porn in bed?

Poll coming!

For 'free', should we be reading 'stolen'?

Depends on how it works, precisely.

This is towards the end of the FAQ:
Is WiFi sharing legal?
WiFi sharing is tolerated by most ISPs worldwide as long as you don't resell your Internet access, which is something we are not doing within the Whisher community.

We believe that sharing your WiFi with other members of the Whisher community is the same as sharing it with your family or a visiting friend. Since at Whisher everyone has a personal profile, which you can use to get to know people visiting your WiFi, sharing becomes a social activity, rather than anonymous access to the Internet by jumping on an open connection

So it's probably like Napster before the RIAA heard about it.

This item of software comes with a complete but. In nations without a Wi-Fi capability, most notably Australia, this thing will sit there and not work.

In Australia, the only true "public" Wi-Fi hotspots are in McDonalds (for a charge); and Gloria Jeans (no charge?). To my knowledge, all the other Wi-Fi hotspots belong to private individuals (ie within the house) or within a business network.

And if anyone points out Telstra NextG network which covers 98% of Australia's population... That works on 3G telecommunications, not Wi-Fi.

This thing won't work in Wi-Fi. Australian users, get your money back.

I have no idea, but I suspect so.

It's free........

Then I want them to send me a check for nothing. And I want it to be really big like Publisher's Clearing House so I can scream "I won!" and then cash it the bank really excitedly.
