Note to self: Make friends with some religious pothead Jews.
A Jewish pro marijuana association issued this warning for Passover.
"You shouldn't smoke marijuana on the holiday, and if you have it in your house you should get rid of it," Levine said. The edict was first reported in The Jerusalem Post.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/israel_passover_pot;_ylt=Asvz42QuZnNNkPv33UvSIU7tiBIF
This goes along with the tradition of getting rid of all leavened bread and other food items not compatible with passover.
2. What is selling Chometz?
Mechirat Chometz, or sale of leaven, is the fulfillment of the biblical injunction that, "No leaven shall be seen or found in your possession." During Passover one must dispose of all his non-Passover foods and dishes. It is the Jewish custom to give away or sell all Chometz to a non-Jew before Passover. After the festival, it is repurchased. Chometz not disposed of in this manner may not be used even after the holiday. The Rabbi can arrange this religious, legal transfer for you any time before Passover.http://www.temple-bnai-israel.org/Passover.htm
Maybe I could get some free weed out of this if I get to know some Jews who smoke up.
