For making me think 300 would be a good movie.
Seriously. It was terrible. Every utterance of dialogue was sub-par, the plot was pedestrian, the cinematography was bland...
The worst film I've seen this year, and I hold you people to blame for making me think it would be awesome.
It's gay softcore. Thought everyone knew that.

You can't blame me...I've been ripping on the movie since before it came out. I've posted in at least two "300" threads to that effect.
You have only yourself to blame. I only read the NSG reviews that blasted it, and decided not to bother.
You probably didn't see it in IMAX, or you went into it expecting something historical. Thats why you hated it.
I went in expecting epic battles, and thats what I got. Therefor, I loved it.

Wait...you were watching it for the dialogue, plot, and cinematography? No wonder you were disappointed.
I was under the impression that it was meant to be a historical action movie with lots of violence and low content.

Yeah I mean it's based on a comic! Blood, guts, war, and fightin' heh I'm takin my eldest to see it Saturday!

Exactly. The movie was just meant to be a mindless action movie. If you are looking for a "story" than you are looking in the wrong place. And to think people compared this to the quality of Sin City.
*shakes head*
BWAHAHA! *points and laughs*
I went to see it because I was forced to, and I expected it to suck maagnificently. So I was pleasently surprised because it was entertaining enough, and better than my low expectations. :)
However, it is true that the plot sucked and the dialogue was pure crap - but that's OK if you watch it as a fascist propaganda movie, just like Starship Troopers. The dialogue and plot makes sense in that setting ;)
It was aesthetically pleasing though :D

Hot naked dudes.
Mmmm.
You just gotta go in to a given movie with the right expectations. If you were looking for a brilliant cinematic work full of insightful dialog and memorable themes, then boy were you barking up the wrong tree.
Myself, I went to 300 looking for hot naked dudes, lots of yelling and off-kilter rock music, and some CGI gore splashing. I was not disappointed.

I'm kinda interested in going to see this. The trailer I saw had ginormous elephants in it! Always good. Pointy sticks, blood, etc. too, and that's about the best you'll get from a film.
But I have a dilemma...
I could go to the cinema, but my girlfriend doesn't want to see it, nobody else to go with, it's £6.50 per person for the cheap seats (!!, especially as I'm 6'2" tall), it's about 40 minutes or so round trip to the cinema, and I don't like cinemas anyway; not dark enough and far too loud. Give me a headache. And the screen flickers!
I could get it on DVD, but I have no idea when it comes out and it'll probably be £10+ which, considering how often I'll watch it (probably at most once), isn't worth it.
Or I could download it. It'll take a while (1.4 gigs at torrent - ie. slow, maybe 50KB/sec if I'm really lucky - speeds), and I don't really like YARR!ware. It ain't theft no matter what the MPAA says, but it is freeloading off others' work.
Why can't they charge reasonable amounts? Compared to a PC game, which I'll probably play for at least 25 hours and which'll cost £25 tops, a cinema ticket is maybe worth £2-3 and a DVD five or six quid. I don't have either infinite free time or infinite money to waste...
Meh, probably I'll just wait until someone I know gets the DVD and borrow it off them, or until I see it for a fiver in Asda.

Blame yourself for being ignorant.
Anyone with the least common sense knows that if you expect too much out of something, you will get disapointed. If you went inside the theater expecting it to be the best movie you´ve ever seen, you can expect to become disapointed.
So, fuck you and stop whining. Cinematography bland? Shit I´ve only seen the trailers and I can already recognize it to be special.

I realise I have the same tastes in movies as the posters I chose to 'believe' in regards to this movie, yup. But unlike the OP, my choice didn't involve me dishing out cash and then ending up disappointed.

Hmmm... Perhaps Hero was a more aesthetically pleasing movie. But that's a work of art, and another movie where you should disregard the plot so... :)
Surprisingly, 300 even had female actors!!

I dunno, the sex scene and harem scene were pretty hetero-inducing.
Nothing like groupthink, I always say.
The movie doesn't pique my interest.
People who like the movies I do didn't care for it.
It'd be a foolish exercise to attempt to assert my individuality by going to see something I don't want to anyway.
Shall I blame you for seeing (or want to see it) based on 'groupthink' and it's box-office gross?
Na, because I'm not that disingenuous.

See, if you went to see it because I said so (and you figure, hey, EO will steer me to a different movie than I'm used to), then if it sucked, you could blame me and it would be legit.
If you went with your friends' advice, and went to see a movie, and it sucked, you could blame them, but as you say they seem to like the same movies, that would be disingenuous.

I wouldn't trust the slavering fanboys of NSG to recommend a commercial for hemorrhoid cream, let alone a feature film.

Meh. I didn't dislike it because of what y'all are thinking about. I liked the idea of getting a historical event and blowing it up out of all proportion... but I don't think 300 succeeded in that.
The fight scenes were only gory in a cartoony way, and littered with clichés. And so repititive! Messenger comes, messenger gets speared, Spartans fight a dozen grunts, repeat (x2), Spartans fight an almost monster, etc. etc...
