Who was the real William Shakespeare?

Well, my Literature teacher is up to her usual crazy tactics, and has us writing essays on who we think actually wrote the works of Shakespeare (apparently, it can't have actually been good old will). After some extensive research, I'm going with an underdog: William Stanley. It's just a kind of feeling I've had. He's pretty much the only one of the big contenders that doesn't have glaring evidence against him.
So, who do you, personally, feel wrote the works of Shakespeare? Was it the bard as we know him, a group of writers, or another acclaimed artist of the time?
NOTE: I'm not asking for anything to help me with the assignment, since I already know what I want to write. I'm just curious now.

Personally, I'm going with good ol' Will. Everyone one else just seems to be a strech.

Shakespeare's comedies were written by the Bard himself, and everything else was just an accident with the printing press.

I actually did a fair amount of research on this subject some years ago, and I came away fairly convinced that the author of William Shakespeare's plays was...William Shakespeare. There's really no strong evidence to suggest otherwise, and an awful lot of the arguments in favor of the various other candidates boil down to classist nonsense.
Of course, if I could have picked two options in the poll, I would have voted for the "Does it really matter?" one as well. Shakespeare's works remain brilliant no matter who wrote 'em. :)

The Internet has disproved the theory that a million monkeys on a million typewriters would write the complete works of Shakespeare

I've actually read all the known works of Shakespeare. I must admit some of the plays are like wtf were you on X when you wrote this? Troilus and Cressida anyone? Da hell is that?
