Mutated Sheep Roam College Campuses!
Well, sort of.
Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.
The sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.
Professor Esmail Zanjani, of the University of Nevada, has spent seven years and £5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

I personally think it's pretty cool, and a lot of peoples lives could be saved. The scientists do have to be careful, though, as the article states.

I want to say that it is pretty scary, but also pretty cool.
Anyway, I dont see this technology being used properly in the next 10 to 20 years.

But yes, interesting development. Certainly no more creepy than that mouse with the human ear growing on its back last year.
I think you meant mutated.
Oops! Could you fix that for me?

I wonder if those who like to have sexual relations with sheep will try to use this new genetic closeness to support their bestiality.
Yeah, I can't believe I just asked that either.

Well so do I. But it's probably because of the proposal to ban bestiality in the UN forum reminding me of the issue.
I already posted my opinion of it in another thread, and I'd say most of you probably know what it is.
Next step is engineering the organs to be not only replacements, but to actually make them better than the ones we are born with. Not only could our medical establishments solve their organ shortages, but we could make some serious upgrades to our conventional biological processes with beneficial effects in a variety of areas. And then it's time for artificial versions ...

You aren't the first to ask. Really.
And thanks Kat for fixing the title. Or HotRodia. Whoever it was.

I always figured they were more in to keeping humans out of it as much as possible...they might demand only the finest, non-tampered with sheep for sex.
But it's probably because of the proposal to ban bestiality in the UN forum reminding me of the issue.
See, this is why I keep out of the UN forum. ;)

i think genetic engineering is s good thing. i find it quite perplexing that people think it is science gone wild. there are far more damaginf products of science already floating nabout casing shit everywhaere.
